Rainbows

Remember me telling you on Saturday that I was taking pictures and the skies got dark and I barely got my stuff in the house before a downpour?

Well, this is what came after the downpour.

The most beautiful rainbow.  Not one but two.  The one was almost in neon colors.  I have never seen one so bright.

This was the first part I saw way up high and then it started going down to the ground and ended up with this....

At first, it was just one and then another one appeared - just not as vivid.

Don't know if you remember or not, but I collect Noah's Ark items.  It started about 20 years ago and I bought a wonderful wreath that had a rainbow on it and some animals and it had a plaque that read - God still keeps His promises.

I started collecting items related to Noah and the Ark and the rainbow.  I even have a whole Christmas tree decorated with nothing but Noah's Ark ornaments and items I've picked up.  Hopefully I will get that tree up this Christmas.

I am always strengthened by the promises God made to Noah and his family.

"I do set my bow in the cloud and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.  And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:  And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh."
Genesis 9:13-15

The rainbow is definitely a promise that God will take care of us.

Enjoy!

Judy

PS:  None of the photos were edited or enhanced.  I wanted you to see how vibrant the colors actually were.

  6. I had a Noah collection too. It was stolen, along with a lot of other items when I moved (my grandson left the back open of an SUV with boxes I was moving). I used to see sets of Noah animals everywhere but I don't see them anymore. Love your rainbow photos. Good to keep in mind that we won't be destroyed by water again, especially with all the rain we've been having! XO

  9. How beautiful the rainbows are! I aways think its a smile from God with it mystic and beautiful colors. We are in downpour rains in IL, it hasn't stopped raining in over 10 days and 10 more are predicted for rain. I'm wondering if we should start building an ark!

  15. We've been having a lot of storms move through...the other day it was pouring down rain with half the sky dark and half of it sunny and I kept looking for a rainbow since it seemed like rainbow weather! :) No such luck so I am happy to see yours :)

  22. Amazingly beautiful in every way, Judy! Thank you for this post! We are having rain and more rain. It arrived from Texas and we expect more from Ben. Our daughter's yard was flooded from the creek alongside the house and it got in their basement. Strong girl, proud of her. They had broken trees as well. We all keep the message of the rainbow near our hearts.

  23. I'm trying to play "catch up" with your posts so I already commented on your weather but not on your beautiful rainbow pictures! Thanks for sharing those. I pray for all those that are struggling with the over abundance of water in their areas.
