My mom sounded much like yours, staying up late to sew something for us to wear the next day, and making homemade meals. Yes, there weren't many fast foods back then - in fact, McDonalds came later in my town, and all the kids hung out there and ate their yummy fries. :) I really like your collection of vintage mother plaques. I hope you had a very nice Mother's Day.

love, ~SheriRed Rose Alleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02685747099912989862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6140606507333247280.post-78297594105116593842016-05-10T11:25:41.251-05:002016-05-10T11:25:41.251-05:00Such a lovely post...I love your gallery wall...xo...Such a lovely post...I love your gallery wall...xoLinda @ Itsy Bits And Pieceshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12090973681675943970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6140606507333247280.post-40639065880371258212016-05-10T06:49:02.143-05:002016-05-10T06:49:02.143-05:00Sounds like you are talking about my Mom:) Wonder...Sounds like you are talking about my Mom:) Wonderful memories! She did work part-time out of the home but was always home when we got home from school. She wanted it that way. she also had FOUR daughters, just like your mom! Her mother was my only grandmother that I knew. My granddad died when she was two. I only had my one grandmother and I remember times when I was young, helping her bake and put green stamps into the stamp books! Those were happy memories. My mom also sewed for all four of her daughters and made us such pretty outfits full of ruffles and trim. Remember rick rack? she loved using it! My parents moved us from the family home in Oklahoma to Oregon when I was 4 years old. I barely knew my grandparents at all and I feel a deep loss about that. You are also lucky your mom stayed home and put you first. Mine always worked as she found it more exciting than staying home. So.. I don't have warm memories like you. Wish I did.
