Saturday Treasures 11/2/2013

Well, since the Flea Market has not opened back up yet, I hit a couple of garage sales early this morning.

I found a beautiful mirror (that will be repainted - I think), four thick wooden brackets to hold a shelf, a Baby Animal book for Laynee, a ME Kleenex holder and matching dish, a white teapot, two small tin buckets, a Depression pie plate, some small miniature pottery pieces, salt and pepper shakers, a Shamrock ceramic dish, some wooden frames, some tiny miniature vintage cars and a big box full of paint brushes......

this is one of those metal imprint sets of letters.....

the big box of brushes.....

miscellaneous and

this gorgeous huge lamp shade frame - it measures 20" across and 12" high.

Then, I hit a very unusual sale.  The stuff was all brand new!

Look what I got!

Foam roller brushes 2/$1.00, really good quality paint brushes @ $1.00/each...

Gingher scissors still in the package @ $5.00/each.  I got three different sizes.  You know, a seamstress can never have enough scissors!

This darling tool set which includes about everything you will need.  I have a big tool box but all of this stuff is smaller and handier and it's all PINK.

My last stop was at the Hallmark store to pick up my annual Noah's Ark ornament.  I have a 7' Christmas tree that is nothing but Noah's Ark ornaments.  I have been collecting them for about twenty years.  Hopefully, I'll get it up this season and show you a photo of it.

Beautiful day for garage sales!

Enjoy!

Till next time, Judy

  1. You really hit the jackpot! Gingher scissors are the best and were quite pricy when I purchased mine years ago. My one pair! Everything was a steal!

  2. You always have the best finds! The weather here in Ontario is now too cold for garage sales...I really LOVE that mirror - can't wait to see what you do with it!

  3. Not only did you find some good vintage things but those new finds were something else. That's like hitting the jackpot.
I went to some barn sales and cafts shows. For the most part they were a fizzle. I found an owl pillow and that was about it. You have the best of luck.

  22. OH how grand to meet you and thank you for the visit! I love yard sales, garage sales, and good consignment shops. There are two big ones in Matthews in Charlotte NC that I visit every time I go. The biggest thing I got was my oak library card catalogue case. LOVE it.

  24. Love everything, of course, but especially the mirror! Can you do me a favor, Judy? Can you look at that miniature yellow vase and tell me if there are any markings on the bottom? I wonder if it's one of the ones I collect…

  30. You did hit the jackpot.

I think my favorite is the lampshade.

  31. You found some great things, Judy! Love the mirror. I found an ornate oval one similar to yours. I want to paint it but I need to cut some paper or something to slip in between the mirror and the frame because it has those cut-outs like yours. I'll just get paint all over the mirror if I don't.

  32. Great finds, I would have bought all those crafty things too!
    Have a happy week.

  36. Oh you did well, what finds you have this time.

I've been thinking about looking for a set of metal stamping letters too.

Bet my Dad has some in his workshop, he seems to have everything.
