Saturday Treasures

As you can see, again, I had a great day at the Tulsa Flea Market.  This was a really super day for me.  This collage shows you a few of the things I purchased.  At the top, I bought 22 pieced vintage flour sack pieces for $2.00.  The six little spoons are sterling and I can't wait to show you what I'm going to do with them.
On the middle row, can you believe I got this whole box of doilies, crocheted potholders, buttons and lace for $2.00?  I grabbed that up in a hurry.  The tiny crocheted booties are shown better on the bottom row.  Aren't they precious?
I bought three vintage doll patterns - notice the price $.35.  I'm hoping they'll work for my Betsy McCall doll that I have from my childhood.
I love silhouettes and thought this set was cute.
My next treasure was this darling vintage Singer sewing machine tin filled with sweet things.  It has a doily, vintage scissors, old tape measure and buttons tucked in among the flowers.  Since I have my Grandmother's vintage pedal Singer sewing machine, I thought this would be cute on top of it.
This item was from the same booth as the Singer tin and is an old, vintage purse (probably from the 50's??) and is stuffed with vintage items.  It has doilies, lace, perfume bottles, hat pins, brooches, powder bos, atomizer, pearls and etc.  It also has this dainty little lamp that actually plugs in and works!!
This is looking down inside of the purse.  The amazing thing about this and the Singer tin is they were $5.00/each.  Can you imagine collecting and putting that all together for that price?
This was my most exciting purchase of the day - a Victorian pincushion.  All handmade!!  The picture in the center is of Nuns and Priests and it is surrounded by Victorian ladies.  The little triangles at the top and bottom of the photo are pincushions.  This is mounted on cardboard and completely handstitched in a buttonhole stitch all around each and every edge.  WOW!!
Till next time, Judy

  7. There you go again, Judy, finding all kinds of good stuff. I know you had to be doing the "happy dance" when you left the flea market..

I love the doilies. My Grandmother used to make things like that.. I still have a few of her crocheted pieces.

I'm curious about what you'll be doing with the sterling teaspoons..

    Happy hunting,
    Charlotte
