Cute Little Pumpkin Door Hanger

 

This is a really easy project that you can whip up in about thirty minutes or less - I promise!

 

This little door hanger is pumpkins cut out of an old book page and sewn onto two layers of burlap.

 

You will need the following items:

 

 

burlap, raffia, book page, scissors, pieces of old limb, jute rope, small silk fall leaves, hot glue and a sewing machine.

 

I really do think you could do this without the sewing machine if you used hot glue and just drew the sections onto the pumpkin cut out of the book page.

 

 

Cut your pumpkin shape out of your old book page.  You want an old page - one with some discoloration to it.

 

 

Lay the paper pumpkin on top of two layers of burlap and sew around the edges of the paper.  Sew in the sections of the pumpkin.  Then cut out your pumpkin shape allowing a edge of the burlap to show.  My pumpkins are about 3" x 4".

 

 

Hot glue the jute rope to the back of each pumpkin using one continuous piece of jute.  Cut your twig the length you want it for the stem of the pumpkin and hot glue it on.  Add a raffia cluster on top of the bottom of the stem.  I just tied a knot in the center of several pieces of raffia for this cluster and hot glued it down.

 

Tuck in a small fall silk leaf under the raffia and some little berries if you have them.

 

There you have it - all done!

 

I think these would be cute on a door knob.
