Halloween Porch

My Halloween decorating is usually a very small part of my outside décor.  I definitely don't like anything scary, so  there are two things Laynee likes - the song Itsy Bitsy Spider and a funny witch that is on a spring that she can pull up and down on.

So, that's my Halloween décor.

I'm sure you've seen this darling pillow on Pinterest.  I just had to make her one to put on the bench on the front porch besides her pumpkin chair.

And this is the witch on the spring.

I have been really occupied this week.

First!!

John finished the last of his 45 cancer treatments on Thursday!! YEA!!

Second!!

Laynee's mom went into the hospital on Monday with her twins.  Seeing as how she still has 2 1/2 months to go, they are trying to keep her from going into hard labor.  So please remember Brittany and those twin girls in your prayers.

Laynee has been here playing a lot and it's amazing how I can get nothing done with a two year old here.  Course, I like to sit in the floor and play with her or be outside with her.  So, it's kinda my own fault.  LOL

Here she is after her bath last night sitting in bed with Bella  intently watching cartoons and eating an apple.  She really likes apples - can you tell?

Thank everyone so much for all of your prayers during John's treatments.  It's been a long haul, but it's over and now we just wait on the treatments and the Lord to start working on that awful cancer.  We don't go back for six weeks and we are anticipating complete recovery by then.  We are so blessed by all the friends and prayers going up for John.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Enjoy!

Till next time, Judy

  1. So good to hear John is done with his treatments but it looks like you still have your hands full, how do you even find the time to make a pillow? I don't decorate for Halloween either, but I would reconsider after seeing your darling saying on the pillow.

  2. How wonderful that John's treatments are finished. That was a LONG 45 treatments time. Deep breaths, whew. You will both welcome the time to NOT be going to the treatments and the time to recover and the return of energy.

And then you have sweet Laynee. Precious, lots of time and love and fun (but not easy to get any work done, I know). Prayers for Brittany and the twin girls as they wait out their birthing time.

I don't know how you found the time to make and send me such a wonderful Memory Pillow but I want you to know that you touched my heart with your kindness.

I am sending you and John love and healing and happiness thoughts.

  16. First and foremost - I'm so glad to hear that John is done with his cancer treatments (45 of them - wow! I can't even imagine) and that he's doing well and now has a break. "Funny" that I should read this post tonight - I was thinking of you guys earlier and was wondering how John was doing. Secondly, I will be praying for Laynee's mom now, too. I hope she doesn't go into labor too early. Two-year olds sure have a lot of energy, don't they? Lastly, I love that spider pillow you made. So darling!

  20. Love that pillow, Judy! How did you get the wording on there? Glad to hear your husband is done with his treatments. Laynee is so cute! My granddaughter is 3. I'm usually sorry the next day when I've been down on the floor with her. : ) Apparently, my back doesn't like it.

  24. I am a new friend but want to say how happy I am for you and John! Will add my prayers to the others as he heals and recovers. Also will pray for your daughter and her twins. My daughter has quadruplets and was in the hospital for 52 days before they were born. Then the babies were in the NICU for 2 months. Prayers made all the difference in the world and I am honored to be a part of the prayer chain for these precious little girls.

  25. Judy I am so glad to hear that John's treatments are over! Yay and continued prayers for his healing. I will also add prayers for the sweet babies to hang on a little longer. Oh I do know how hard it is to get anything done with a two year old around...but it's also so much fun!
    hugs, Linda

  26. So very happy for you and John that that long treatment period is over! Looking forward to the results when you all go back in 6 weeks and you hear he is cancer- free. Prayers really do work! Now Brittany and her twin girls are on my list! God will take care of them.
Your little granddaughter, Laynee, is such a cutie! I must tell you that my 17-month-old granddaughter, Sophia, looks like Laynee's twin.I will have to send you a pic of her soon. And, yes, they keep you very busy when you babysit one that age.
