Let's make a cute and simple Fall doorhanging. To make this you will need:
30" of upholstery webbing
three small fallish prints
ribbon for a bow
one berry spray
Wonder Under
burlap scraps
small jute rope
scissors
white glue
hot glue and gun
white plastic ring for hanger
OK, let's get started!
I traced around some small fall leaves I had from last year. You can go out and pick up a leaf or two out of your yard to use as a pattern.
You are going to trace three of these onto the paper side of Wonder Under.
Also, trace and iron on one of the prints, your FALL letters. (Remember, to trace them backwards).
Just cut them out and iron them onto a piece of burlap.
Trim around the leaves leaving a small margin of burlap.
Glue Jute Rope to the leaves where the veins would be, and leave a tail of the rope.
Adhere your letters to the upholstery webbing. Cut a notch at the bottom.
Make a bow out of any fallish ribbon you have on hand.
Now, start assembling your wallhanging.
Lay the webbing strip down with your letters already adhered to the strip. Go up above the letters and first, hot glue down the spray of berries. Then add the three leaves in various lengths. Lastly, hot glue your bow to cover up the ends of the leaves' jute rope and the end of the berry spray.
Turn under whatever edge you have left and hot glue it down. Sew and/or hot glue a round plastic ring to the top back to hang your piece by.
You're done!!
Have been working on a couple of garlands. This one is burlap with shiny, sparkly orange polka dots. It is made on jute rope.
This one is made of an orange cotton fabric reinforced with interfacing and stenciled with the letters. A black spider is on the upper left hand corner!
And, this is Herbie the Hoot Owl. He is made out of a heavy upholstery fabric and is trimmed with burlap and scrim wings and yoyo, burlap and button eyes.
These will be listed on my Etsy.
Enjoy this beautiful Fall day!
