Have you ever seen something sitting on the curb and instantly thought "I can do something with that"?
I saw this piece on the curb a few days ago and went to the door to see if it actually was a giveaway but no one was at home.
My teenager neighbor was out that evening and I ask him if he wanted to go on an "adventure". He said sure.
We went back over a block or so to where the piece was and it was still there. The owners were sitting out in lawn chairs in the yard and I ask them if it was a giveaway and they enthusiastically said yes.
The gentleman even loaded it in the truck.
Now, it's definitely not a premium piece of furniture as you can see by the photos.
The back was a thin wood that was almost cardboard and was coming off.
So far, I've cleaned it up and sanded down the rough spots. I am so excited to get it finished and show you. I love having the screened in porch to work on things.
Hopefully, by weekend, I can show you my recycled piece.
Enjoy!
Judy

Four time a year we have 'bulk trash pick up' in the metro area. Yes, there is Lots of trash put out to the curb, but I am also surprised at how many nice pieces are put out as well. I've picked up a few pieces here and there and they end up being some of the best pieces I have! Enjoy the re~love process! Blessings, Cindy xoxo
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it will be a fun piece when you're finished with it! I quit picking up anything that needs work, since I don't have the time to fix it, and nobody else wants to do it for me, but it's hard to pass up a freebie!
ReplyDeleteI know you will make a wonderful piece of furniture out of this cast off. Good going, Judy!
