Remember the shutter I got at Habitat for Humanity to put beside the sliding glass doors?
Well, it was my project for today. I am trying to finish up a project a day this week. (Good thing it's a short week - LOL).
Well, here it is today.
The upper section has a red berry wreath, doily, a small butter pat with red roses, a yellow crocheted potholder with a sunflower in the middle and a tiny red and white crocheted dress.
The middle section has more doilies, a tiny wooden house and a needlepoint house that was originally a doorstop.
The bottom section has a red tin tole tray and another sunflower. I'm pulling in some yellow and will show you more yellow soon.
Most of the items I ran cord thru the shutter and tied them on. The doilies are glued.
Yesterday when I showed you my redo of my curb side piece, I showed you my red bubble gum machine.
My goal is to fill it with old white buttons. My sweet friend Dorothy came by this morning and bought me several bags of white buttons. It's going to take quite a few to fill it up. So, if any of you have sacks of white buttons laying around, let me know, OK?
Enjoy!
Judy
Love love love the decorated shutter. I am so loving the black and red and yellow you are doing out there. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to see more. You rock girl!

Very pretty shutter! You can probably change vignette according to your whim or by holidays or seasons! What a great idea for the bubble gum machine. I have one just like it...I'm copying your idea! TFS
ReplyDeleteA project a day is a great way to keep your motivation going. I need to do the same!!
ReplyDeleteLove your shutter all dolled up. :)
You are so good at putting your finds to use right away, Judy! What a fun way to use your vintage accents! And buttons are a good idea for filling your bubblegum machine. Your little ones would be gathering up their coins if it was filled with sugary gumballs!
ReplyDeleteI loved the redo on your curbside dresser! I would probably respray the baskets a lighter color, like red or white so the basket weave would stand out more. I think you have wonderful ideas, Judy! Your new porch/deck and house redo are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove the shutter and all the pretties you have on it. Great vintage items - you always find so many wonderful treasures.

I love that bubblegum machine...what a cute idea Judy...our little thrift shop always sorts the pearly white buttons into tiny bags, I was there today and forgot to look. Adorable.

Nice goal! I'd settle for a project per year. At the rate I'm going, that would be an accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteYou are on a roll Judy. Cute collection on your shutter! I especially love the needlepoint house and tole tray.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann

ReplyDeleteYour shutter project turned out beautifully, Judy! Did you do the needlepoint doorstop and crochet all of those doilies? Love that little red and white dress.
ReplyDeleteHi Judy, I was thinking about sending you some buttons for your bubble gum machine but don't really think they are quite vintage. Are you wanting really old white buttons? I think this idea is darling...just email me to let me know!
