My Redo

Do you remember my curb side pick-up piece of furniture?

It was in pretty bad shape and I wasn't sure I could save it.

The back was off and two drawers were missing.

A friend helped me to put a new wooden back on it.

That made it much more stable.

TA DA!!!

I am so tickled at how it turned out.

I found two baskets for $5.99 each that I sprayed black.  They fit perfectly in the top space where there use to be a drawer.

The second non-existing drawer space was filled in with a black/white checked ruffle on a tension rod.

I put new red hardware on it and am very pleased with the outcome.  It will be perfect to keep some items on the porch .  I figure I have maybe $20.00 in supplies.

Picked Laynee up after school today.  We folded paper and made paper dolls and then colored them.

She is so amazed at simple things like that that we do.  Things I did when I was a little girl - many eons ago,

Enjoy!

Judy

  43. Could you give us a step-by-step walk through of how you paint your furniture? It looks so beautiful! I have a couple of pieces I'd like to paint white or off white, but it scares me as to what to do first or in what order. Do you sand first? then to you primer it or just paint it? I need instructions and help! I love the black with the checkered little curtain.. and that cherry sign with the checkers is so perfect. What a great job you did!
