I am so tired of packing and unpacking!! So, I took a couple of hours off and worked on a new project.
I call it my Blue Topiary.
I used four vintage plates in different patterns.
Here you can see the various plates - all different patterns.
I used a silicone glue to attach everything together. I topped it off with a vintage bird figurine.
The in between pieces are (bottom) a vintage blue print sugar bowl, (middle) a cobalt blue glass piece and (top) a Blue Willow piece. Don't really know what the BW piece is. It's really too small for an egg cup.?????
But, I really love the end result.
Come take a walk with me thru my yard....
I probably have 100+ lilies in the back yard. I have been anxiously awaiting them to bloom and surprise - they are all different colors. I wasn't expecting that.
Look at this beauty!! I put my hand beside it so that you could see how large one blossom is.
And then, there's beautiful white ones.
My Million Bells are growing like crazy.
Does anyone know what this is? I have several mounds of this in the back yard and it has no blooms. It is really pretty but I have no idea what it is.
Any ideas??
Then to the front yard and my collection of hydrangeas. So much variety.
And finally, my Queen Kimberly fern is doing quite well on the front porch.
Thanks for going for a walk in my yard with me.
Have a great weekend.
Enjoy!
Judy

ReplyDeleteYour yard looks gorgeous. How cool it must be to discover new blooms each day.
I'm not an expert with flowers but the leaves on that plant remind me of asters.

Judy
Oh wow, Judy. Did you know how beautiful the yard is in the spring before you bought the house? Lovely flowers. Thanks for the tour.
ReplyDeleteOh no. I bought the home in November and didn't move in until March due to having a lot of remodeling to do. An older couple lived here and everything and I mean everything, was pink and/or aqua. So, I was not in a hurry to move and was able to do a lot of the work before moving. So, it has been amazing to see all of the gorgeous things coming alive in the gardens.
DeleteThanks for visiting.
Judy

What delightful surprises you are getting this spring, as new flowers unfold in your garden! The unidentified plants might be a variety of firecracker plant. I have some in my yard -- they bloom in late summer, covered in tiny red flowers, and the hummingbirds adore them. You'll just have to wait and see!
ReplyDeleteI'll see what happens to the plant as summer progresses. It's really pretty mounds in the flower beds. I just didn't have any idea of what it was. Thanks.
DeleteHave a great weekend.

Love the topiary your made, especially the birds on top! Your yard is really in full bloom now; can't believe all the lilies you have. Sorry, I don't know what that cluster of plants is that you showed us. Do you have a smart phone? There are plant identification apps if you upload a picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks Melanie. The yard is just amazing. When I bought the house, it was mid November and I had no idea what to expect. I have been pleasantly surprised each and every day.
DeleteWill try to find that plant.

Your garden is blooming with so many different pretty flowers, Judy. Love the yellow lilies. In the front of my house there are yellow lilies, but they look like the white ones in your garden. The million bells are tiny and lovely. And I like the Blue Topiary project you worked on. It's interesting, and the birds sitting on top adds a special touch. I love blue in the home. :)
