Several years ago, I found a new friend at a craft show I was participating in and she had the most gorgeous mosaics I had ever seen. Her name is Pam Smith and she is in Tulsa.
I ask her if she did custom work and she did! Yea!
I had found this silver coffee service and had it in my reserves.
I had been in Tuesday Morning and bought a set of red and white transferware looking dishes. One of my cups was broken when I unpacked them. I went back and ask if they could possible replace the one cup. The lady said the whole crate had come in with damages and they would replace the cup with one out of the damaged sets.
I ask her if she would be willing to sell the broken set and she readily agreed to for like $10.00.
So, I called Pam and took my teapot and tray over to her with the box of broken dishes.
I had also found this tray that had ceramic inserts in each end. She chiseled out the old and put in the mosaic pieces to match the teapot.
She had a floral ceramic knob that she used on the top of the teapot.
I have always just loved this set. I also have a small table she did I will share with you at some date.
Enjoy!
Judy
Oh Judy, she does beautiful work. The tea pot looks amazing and it is a great tea set.

Thanks Mary. She certainly does gorgeous work. I have a small table she did also and will show it soon.

This is the most interesting and unique tea pot, Judy. Your friend is so talented to replace the pieces and make it lovely again. There is a Tuesday Morning in the next town, and I sometimes shop there. Lots of different things to buy.
ReplyDeleteHappy May, Judy.
love, ~Sheri
I love Tuesday Morning. They always have such a variety and the prices are good. Pam does an excellent job on her mosaics.

A beautiful piece that I would be afraid to use since I'm a bull in a china shop! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI don't actually use it - it's just to look pretty! LOL

That really is unique and personifies the saying "reuse, recycle, repurpose". It's gorgeous! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Teresa!

How beautiful! We have so many talented people in the world and it's always fun to find someone at one of the shows. Mosaics are beautiful. I've always wanted a tray done with mosaics. The type you see for having breakfast in bed. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane. She is truly talented and does the most amazing work.

That teapot is so pretty and what a talented lady that she did this mosaic for you! However, I can't help but think...you are so talented and crafty too, that I bet you could do this! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Melanie. I've never tried mosaics - looks too time consuming to me. I like instant projects. LOL
DeleteJudy
Your friend does beautiful work. You were fortunate to get that box of china.
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying the beautiful weather we are having in this part of the country.
We've been cool the last few days but it is warming up now. Suppose to be warm and start storming again on Sunday. Oh well, that's Oklahoma for you. Where do you live?

What a gorgeous way to dress a teapot! So creative and beautiful. I see you are enjoying the awakening of your garden. Wish we could grow peonies! I am blown away by your offer of lily of the valley. I looked them up and they say they need lots of moisture. I'm sure that real gardeners have grown them here, but I would be a very high risk candidate! You are so generous to think of sending me some. I'm afraid I would kill them!
ReplyDeleteIf you decide you want to try some, just let me know. I understand you have to thin them out so I will be doing that anyway. Just not sure when to do it. Will do some checking.
DeleteThanks for dropping by.
Judy
Judy, what a beautiful set. I have seen other pieces in antique stores done in the same manner and have always admired them. I thought I might try my hand at doing something similar so started saving chipped and broken dishes, but so far haven't done anything about it. Yours turned out just wonderfully. She did such a good job on it..Happy Week to you..Judy
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy. Yes, she did an awesome job. I don't think I could do something that detailed.
DeleteThanks for visiting,
Judy
Pam did the doors to a TV armoire that I have. She does beautiful work. I have loved that piece for 10 years now!
ReplyDeleteYour teapot gives me some ideas. Do you know if she still sets up Sat. morning on Cherry Street?
I don't know if she does Cherry Street or not, I have run into her at the flea market at the fairgrounds a few times - just shopping, not selling. She is really talented.

OHHHHHHHHHH I love it also and want one for myself. I have lots broken dishes I have saved for years that my family has wanted to throw away.
ReplyDeleteI bet I have been saving them for this purpose.
Can you give me Pam's
address etc? email?
It's lovely Judy,
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith
