Last week, Tiff, the little girls and I went on a daytrip to Gentry, Arkansas (about an hour and a half trip) to the Wildlife Safari.

IT WAS AMAZING!!!!

They had every animal imaginable.  They normally have a petting zoo, but of course, it was closed.  But we drove thru the 45 acres looking at all of the animals.

The big animals (lions, tigers, cougars, etc.) were in big cages and you drove down one side and then the other to get a good view of them.  We were there when they opened at 10 and they had all just been fed, so they were very active.

But, herds of zebras, camels, deer, etc. just roamed free.  You had to have your windows up and of course, could not feed them.

Kangaroos and have you ever seen a white kangaroo?

Or a white peacock?

We loaded the girls up in the back of Tiff's Traverse and they took pictures galore.  We then drove into Bentonville, went thru a Wendy's and got lunch.  It was a very good outing!!!

I bought this beautiful glass bird feeder.  It's made out of a reproduction of Depression Glass.  I wanted something that the squirrels couldn't get to.  I've had two and they raided them and then chewed them up.

The little rascals climbed the tree, planted their back feet on the tree and stretched across and ate the birdseed.  I could hardly believe what I saw.  Smart little imps.

Normally, my little red truck carries around a bunch of my vintage s&p shakers with red Bakelite lids.  I decided to "spring" it up a little.

I added greenery in the back and little ceramic rabbits.

Enjoy!

Judy

  1. I'm so glad you are able to enjoy time with Tiff and the girls and what a fun trip through the safari! We have one here but it's a 4 hour drive and that would be a long day. I truly got a kick out of your little red truck with the bunnies and greenery. Did you know I found and bought a similar truck as I fell in love with yours? ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  10. What a fun outing, Judy! Something both kids and adults would like. Where do they get these animals, do you know?
Love your new bird feeder. Not surprised the squirrels found a way to reach it though. They're awful! We have one of those small, privately owned bird supply shops near us and we found squirrel and chipmunk proof feeders and food there. The food is actually a spiral with a hole in the middle. It goes down onto the spiral in the feeder. The spiral is covered in cayenne spray, which deters rodents but not birds, as they don't have a sense of smell! It has been amazing to watch. The birds love it and the squirrels and chipmunks stay far away! This feeder and food were initially more expensive than even the so-called squirrel-proof feeders that I've seen (and tried) in stores, but very worth it. All our other squirrel-proof feeders either broke or definitely weren't squirrel-proof.
I have the same small red Bakelite salt and pepper shakers! I have tall ones with yellow caps, too.

  16. As a sign of gratitude for how my son was saved from autism, I decided to reach out to those still suffering from this.My son suffered autism in 2017 and it was really tough and heartbreaking for me because he was my all and the symptoms were terrible, he always had difficulty with communication, and he always complained of poor eye contact. We tried various therapies prescribed by our neurologist but none could cure him. I searched for a cure and I saw a testimony by someone who was cured and so many others with similar body problems, and he left the contact of the doctor who had the cure to autism. I never imagined autism has a natural cure not until I contacted him, and he assured me my son will be fine. I got the herbal medication he recommended and my son used it and in one month time he was fully okay even up till this moment he is so full of life. Autism has a cure and it is a herbal Mix medicine from Dr. James contact the doctor for more info on how to get your cure of diseases like ALZHEIMER'S DISEASES, DIABETES, BIPOLAR DISORDER, CANCER, HIV/AIDS, HERPES Hepatitis A, B, C.
