Another Super Simple Pinterest Project

I am trying so hard to, at least once a week, do one of the Pinterest projects that I have pinned.

I have seen this on several occasions and decided that today was the day to do it.

It really was pretty simple.

You take an old silver knife - I believe it has to be silver because their handles are hollow - and cut off the blade part.  You are now left with a hollow handle.

I glued it with E6000 glue onto a small white scalloped vintage plate and hot glued a hanger on the back of it.

Ta Da!!

Go out and pick some dainty little flowers and insert into the hollow knife handle and hang on your wall.

Now, wasn't that easy?

The only part that was a teensy weensy hard was cutting off the blade to the knife.  John used a coping saw and it took a few minutes to do.

Enjoy!

Till next time, Judy

  1. Judy, I have seen this done with a pin glued to the handle, so you can pin it to your lapel with a flower in it. Finding these knives isn't easy. I like how it stands out with the cute plate behind it. xoxox, Susie

  6. Love that idea. I want to use them as flower holders too, using a clear suction cup as the holder! Hubby has to cut them for me!
Love your finds! The turtle sprinkler is very unique.

  9. Very cute! I love how the knife becomes a little vase. These plates with the knives would be cute hanging outdoors on a wooden fence.

  10. I love it, it's very unusual! Yes, I too believe they would look awesome on a porch wall. Have a great week.
