Just Playing Around

 
I spent some of this afternoon playing around with the tart tins, vintage wooden spools, Christmas trees, vintage figurines and paper mache boxes!
 
Oh, and some glitter also!
 
 
Remember the bunch of this little tart tins I got an an estate sale a few weeks back?  Well, I was in a mood, so I started working on them.
 
I had several different shapes and sizes.
 
 
I added music pages out of old hymnals to the spools, some glittery trim and white Christmas trees.
 
 
I had a whole box of these old looking figurines which include a group of Christmas carolers and musicians, and used one on the top of this tin.
 
 
This was a tiny paper mache box I had and I used the old book pages and some glitter.  (By the way, if you run into me within the next year, I'll probably still have glitter on me - you can't get that stuff off of your skin!)
 
So, that was my afternoon - just playing around!
 
Thank you all for the great response to my "Christmas Every Monday".  It was wonderful to hear from all of you and I hope you were inspired.
 
Thank you also for all of your prayers and concern for John.  We did treatment #38 today which means we only have seven left.  So, next Friday 10/18 we will be finished.  I thank the Lord that John is doing fairly well and will improve each and every day after that date.  The Lord has been very good to us.  The hospital we are using is staffed with the most fantastic, caring people, nurses and doctors. 
 
So, needless to say, we are on the downhill side!

    So pleased for John that the treatments are getting closer to ending. You will both have such a feeling of relief to end the daily treatments.

    Glad to hear that John's treatments are nearly through, and he can start feeling stronger and better. Love the tins with spools and trees on them, the sheet music is perfect with them, and the love figurine is precious. These are all lovely.

    I love all your sweet vintage feel ornaments.......the combinations of little tins, sheet music, trees and spools (you know how I love those!) works beautifully and the glitter is perfect to top it all off with frosty sparkle.

    These are so cute. I have a stash of old tart tins that I couldn't figure out what to do with, and now I know. I even have some bottle brush trees to go with them.
