I really do feel guilty about posting about our beautiful weather the last couple of days when so many are having such devastating weather.
Bella has thoroughly been enjoying outside in all of the dried grass. What possesses dogs to lay on their back and roll in dried grass? At least, she knows to stop before she comes in the house so that I can brush the dried grass and leaves off of her.
Wanted to show you this "wonky" birdhouse I put up yesterday.
I put it up on the craft storage building. When I saw it, I thought it was kinda cute and different. And then when I saw it was half price, I liked it even more.
You can see it is made out of an old board (not even painted on the ends), a piece of corrugated metal for the roof, an old can and I think that is a railroad spike.
You can better see the old can from underneath.
It's different, but I think it looks cute on the porch and hopefully, some bird will like it too! I probably need to put some dried grass and/or moss in it to attract the birds. Think so?
Enjoy!
Judy
It's such a cute, wonky bird house. I love how it is made from scraps, and the bird will probably love it too. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful here in North Alabama as well Judy. I do feel sorry for all those poor people in the northeast. One of my blog friends lives in the Boston area and she posted some pictures....the snow is really coming down. But for this moment let's just be glad we are enjoying a pleasant day. Spring will bring tornado weather our way soon!
ReplyDelete56 and sunny as I type, and of course typical of the area we can go from one extreme to another very quickly. Hope the snow stays away from here.
ReplyDeleteCute idea for the birdhouse!
I'm also in Ok. A 3.8 earthquake woke me up at 530.
ReplyDeleteTornado season is just around the corner.
Warm days in winter are our reward for living with quakes, twisters and droughts:)
Judy, it is a super cute bird house. We have been blessed with some nice weather here also.
ReplyDeleteThe birdhouse is darling, and whimsical. I would have snatched it up too:)
ReplyDeleteJudy, it's the cutest, wonky birdhouse I've ever seen. Don't feel bad your area is having nice weather and sunny. Those of us suffering through a cold, snowy, windy weather will not hold it against you. Friends always let things like this slide :-} Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI betcha some bird will love it.
ReplyDeleteI feel guilty too...it was 74 here today. Big smiles!! :)
That is a wonky birdhouse! Waaaay cute. It's warm here, too.
ReplyDeleteHi Judy,
ReplyDeleteLove your cute wonky birdhouse. That is really cute. Ohhhhh enjoy the warmth. I cannot wait to feel warmth and sunshine and fling the windows open. Few more months around here before that happens. Enjoy your gorgeous weather.
Kris
What a cute bird house...some mama bird will love her new home!! Hear we might get more snow this coming weekend. I'm so ready for Springtime.

Good for you with the nice weather! I bet your pooch really enjoys it! We need a warm up but otherwise very little snow.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the little birdhouse. I bet this is something we could do. Every bird family needs a little roof over it's head! If you have an old wreath, you can hang it nearby with twigs, moss, pieces of yarn, newspaper scraps...all stuffed in. They will build a nest using that. I think they would clean out anything you put in birdhouse yourself.
Thanks for your visit! :)

I like the bird house. your dog looks like he has a lot of character.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad posting about your weather, just enjoy it. Having three dogs, I googled the rolling in the grass question. As I recall, it's in their ancestry to roll around in stinky stuff, so just be thankful your pooch didn't find do-do to roll in LOL. Love the birdhouse. Some bird will surely make it "home".

I believe this little home is just waiting for a sweet little bird to make her nest in it. Spring oh spring we welcome you. Seven degrees in central indiana today.
ReplyDeleteHi Judy, we hit 80 yesterday here in the Dallas area. I wish I could send some of this heat to melt the snow for those on the east coast. Looks like sweet Bella is really enjoying the sunshine. Sweet land unique birdhouse. I like it and looks like it was made for the spot you placed it. I am sure the birds will love it too.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy our warm weather
Hugs
Unique birdhouse design! Love it and hope the birdies will love it too! Our weather is chilly but nice:) Have a blessed day dear Judy, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean - it was 78 here yesterday in TX. I love that birdhouse! & your Bella! Enjoy the weather TODAY - it is all downhill temperature wise after today. 8+)
ReplyDeleteLove the birdhouse. Don't put anything in it as they will just clean it out and start fresh. You know, just as do we, they love to decorate and tweak on their own terms! Enjoy the warm weather! We continue with snow and cold here, but this, too, shall pass.
ReplyDeleteLove that birdhouse, Judy. What a neat idea! I could make that, and I just might. I've been hearing all about your warm weather there in Oklahoma and I am more than a wee bit jealous. Enjoy, my friend.

Cute birdhouse! And I guess dogs just like to scratch their backs on the grass. We have a couple of dogs who, for some odd reason, love to eat the grass that caked under the lawn mower and then fell off. I try to keep them from it so they don't choke, but they're as crazy about that as I am about dark chocolate! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking Bella probably likes to roll around in the dried grass because it scratches all her itchy spots! You know, like how bears rub up against trees. That birdhouse is so cute and quirky. I love things like that.
ReplyDeletethe birds will love their wonky birdhouse!
