A Vignette For A Gray, Dreary Day

Today was suppose to be bright and sunny and warm - NOT!!!!

It's windy, cool, cloudy and gray.

But, I was feeling a lot better and decided to do a new little vignette for the entry.

It started with the paper posy (above).  It was just made by pleating old book pages and making an accordion flower out of it.  Adding a stick for a stem from the yard, a button for the center and a little bow out of crinkled seam binding. Then I hot glued it to this oblong silver tray I already had.

Brightened my day!

I combined it with my book page wreath, silver salt and pepper shakers, a small silver tea set and a small cruet set in silver all atop a vintage table runner.  I wish all of the silver had the patina that the little tray has on it.

So, when it's dreary outside - it doesn't take much to make me smile!

Enjoy!

Judy

  10. That flower is fantastic, Judy, as is the entire vignette. Love all the silver. Sorry to hear you'd been so sick. Sounds like what I had at the beginning of the month. Once my fever broke, I felt so much better and got well quickly. Hope it goes the same for you.

  11. What a smart idea! Dreary here too but then that is just a day for Mr and I to sit on the couch and take it easy. We don't have many of those days throughout the year.

  17. Hi Judy, I have been blog hopping this evening catching up with friends and making some new ones. It is always fun to stop by and see what you have been doing. I have enjoyed reading your blog and seeing that the twins are growing. I have been keeping you all in my prayers. I love your flowers that you got from Walmart. They are so pretty. Have a great day. 18. This is a lovely vignette.
It was beautiful and sunny here yesterday, but today it is cold and dreary. J just came in with the paper. When he picked it up there was ice on the wrapper. We are on the southern edge of the clipper that is taking the blizzard to the east coast. A tad chilly here tonight.

  22. Your paper flower is just charming! I enjoy folded book (and music) paper crafts and will have to add your flower to my repertoire. I just pinned it to my Book Paper and Other Paper Projects board. Thanks so much for sharing and brightening up the grey, snowy day here on the East Coast!
