A Little Getaway!!

Oh Boy!  A Getaway from this cold, Oklahoma weather!

John & I decided that for Christmas we would not get each other gifts (which is something we have gotten to do on a regular basis) but to plan a trip.

John's health issues are not getting any better and the cold weather is really hard on him.  SO,  I got on the internet and found this charming cottage in Galveston, TX about 2 blocks off of the beach.  We have leased it for the entire month of February.  I am so excited.  We can take Bella with us and hopefully we will have a warm month to stroll the beach and just play!

It is named "Three Palms Bungalow" and is a bright yellow with a picket fence around it.  There's a porch swing on the front covered porch which will be used a lot I'm sure!

Our granddaughter Tiffany is going to drive down with us and stay a few days and then fly home.

Any of you bloggers who live in this area - I would love to meet you if possible.  Just email me and I'll give you the info you need to contact us.

Other grandchildren will be staying in our home while we are gone.  Isn't it a shame that you have to worry about leaving your home?  So, kids agreed to take care of that for us.

So, hopefully, we will be worry free for a month.  We have received an OK from all of the doctors.

Yippee!! Come on January 31st, 2014!!

Till next time, Judy

  4. Enjoy Galveston. Our son lives in Houston, and February can have some nice, warm days. Don't leave your sweater or jacket at home, tho'. Be sure to visit NASA. There won't be many crowds anywhere in February. Great time for sightseeing! Linda@Wetcreek Blog

  5. Good for you, Judy!! Just think of all the vitamin D you'll absorb in that warm Texas sun. It's going to hit -39 degrees the next few days and they're telling us -57 windchill factor, so your little vacation cottage sounds like heaven right now.

  6. It is adorable, Judy. So glad you found it.

And Shelia of Notesongs is from Galveston. She is one of the sweetest bloggers out there. I think you two would really hit it off.

  7. I just might have to get the number for that place and when all this ordeal is over, rent it for myself. That wouldn't be a long trip at all for me! If Michael gets a heart and is recovered by then, I just might have to join you... I could sure use a beach!

  15. It will be so nice for you there and I love Galveston. I will just miss you, as I will be in Houston the last two weeks of Jan. I saw someone else mentioned Shelia of Note Songs. You should for sure contact her. I met her last time I was in TX and she is more adorable then even her blog shows her to be! She is a real sweetheart and her husband is a really great guy also.

  17. Oh, Judy, I am so happy for you and John! To be able to escape an entire month in the winter to a warm climate, especially with John's health problems is one of the best things I think you could do! Good for you. I'm so glad you did this. :-)

  21. I hope you can get some much needed relaxing time. While it's been cold in TX since Nov this year, there are still some days where it gets in the 60's, and we don't have the ice you have had. Just take enough clothing to do some layering and jackets "just in case". Have safe travels. Hugs.
