Saturday Treasures 2/15/2014

Another neat old clock to add to my collection!!

A beautiful white ironstone pitcher!!

A sweet little plate and a hand painted stamp holder!!

A set of three plates in purple!!

Some beautiful tassels for pillows!!

And my special piece - this three piece set - including s&p shaker and don't know what the middle piece is, do you?

I fell in love with this piece for two reasons - first, it has shamrocks on it and since my birthday is St. Patrick's Day, I always get excited with anything with shamrocks on it - and secondly, it was stamped "Occupied Japan".

The sun was shining and it was all good!!

Enjoy!

Judy

  5. Well, don't laugh but I think that 3 piece salt and pepper set was used as a "range top" set for seasoning food and that middle piece was used for "drips"--grease that was poured off from bacon, etc. My friend that was an antique dealer had some sets like that in her shop and I remember one set was marked and the middle one said "drips". Also-could be for sugar cubes?

Whatever it's for-it is cute as is everything else you found. xo Diana

  8. I think the middle jar of the shamrock set is for grease, too. I've also seen stove top sets with shakers for salt and flour.

  9. Wow! What a great ironstone pitcher! Oh, I want! I went to estate sale today and didn't see one piece of ironstone. Saw a white piece of McCoy Pottery but it was $40 and had a crack.

  10. Nice finds!
I checked the estate same list for the area and nothing sent me running.
Looking forward to warmer temps this week.
    Have a great week.

  14. Love all the stuff - especially the shamrock piece - could the center one be for jam or condiments - I vote for jam.

  17. Hi there. The middle 'shamrock' is definately for mustard. It's very common here in England to have the salt, pepper and mustard pot all together. Hope this helps. Blessings

  18. Hi Judy, oh you found some special treasures. Love the 3 pc shamrock set and I think the middle piece was for jam or sugar cubes.
I am half Irish and love finding shamrock items too.
    Have a great day.

  19. Very nice finds! I especially love that old alarm clock. Looks like the one I had when I was a kid. I used to 'hear' music to the beat of the tick-tock - which kept me awake a lot of the night!

    Happy Monday!
All great finds, but I love the old clock best. Probably because I can't find any around my area!

  22. You find the most amazing things, Judy! I love that old clock face! Is the middle pot for mustard? When I was a child we used to have cruet sets of three and mustard was one of them!
    Wishing you a happy week.
