Mourning Doves and New Pillows

Oh - Brenda is going to be so proud of me getting a good bird picture!!  We have Mourning Doves nesting in our 50' pine tree in the back yard.  They built their nest amazingly low to the ground.

I have been busy this week sewing on new pillows for my Etsy shop.

The center of this one is an old, vintage tablecloth.  I have to admit tho, that I painted the leaves red.  They were a pale aqua and I wanted red.  So, I just painted them.  Where there's a will, there's a way!

The red and yellow flowered part of this is a vintage tablecloth.

I loved this old embroidered piece of linen with the hand crocheted trim around the edge.  I think it made a pretty pillow.

Beach umbrellas, anyone?

Maybe you prefer lighthouses?

Or gardening?  Do you see the three dimensional ladybug?

These will all be on my Etsy shop www.20northora.etsy.com later this evening.

In the next couple of days, I will be adding some of the vintage Memory Pillows and others for Mother's Day.  I'm only doing 12 of the Memory Pillows, so if you want one for Mother's Day, stay tuned or drop me a line.

Enjoy!

  3. Just got a chance to open bloglovin'. unfortunately, I no longer get you posts by e-mail. The pillows are perfect!
We have 6 doves who come to my yard in the fall, winter and early spring. They get so used to us, I can refill the feeders and they will wait patiently on the other side of the yard, talking amongst themselves. I have not been blessed with having my camera on hand when they are present, so thank you for sharing. ( The grands call them Mr. & Mrs. Peckerson, Flapperson and Quackerson.)

  9. Great job on the pic of the dove. Love hearing them in the mornings, but have rarely heard them the last couple of years. Hope they have just moved on and nothing happened to them. Love the pillows! Like someone else said - don't know where you find the time.

  14. HI Judy, love your pillows. The fabrics are amazing. These are not going to last long in your shop. Love the beach umbrellas!!
Beautiful shot of the dove. My son has one that sits on his chimney every morning and evening. He says, it's nana and grandpa watching over him sent by God. Oh my gosh, be still my heart.
    Have a great weekend.

  16. I love all of these pretty pillows! The vintage fabric in the first one reminds me of a tablecloth my grandmother always had on her table and the gingham check is a favorite of mine! I wish I had room and a place for that one. Enjoy your weekend!
