Ignoring The Weather!!

In an effort to completely ignore the freezing rain, sleet and snow outside, I made a Spring wreath.

I had seen this, I believe, on Pinterest but when I went back, I couldn't find the original source again.

It is a frame from Michaels combined with a bird (again from Michaels), a nest with eggs and a banner spelling out Spring.

It was a fun project except it took forever to paint that frame because it was too cold outside to spray paint it.

But, it made me feel better anyway.

Poor Bella has not been well.  She had her teeth cleaned last week and they found she had two bad teeth that were infected.  So, they pulled them.  They put her on an antibiotic for a week and day before yesterday, she started have bad stomach issues.

So, back we went to the Vet's.  He took her off of the meds and put her on a probiotic and it seems to help.  She's started eating a little.

I know so many of us that hurt so bad when our pets are not well.  They are indeed part of our family.

Stay warm and safe.

Judy

PS - I finally found where I saw this wreath.  It was by Leanne @ Organize & Decorate Everything blog.

Thanks for the inspiration Leanne.

  1. Oh, I hear you about the weather! We are having the same thing. BUT I watched the weather at noon and they said it would be 70 tomorrow and sunny! Whoa...my sinuses! I'm also working on something springy. I can't wait! I hope we have a string of warm days now. I'm sorry Bella doesn't feel good. Since I've lived alone, my dogs and I are super close. Lola is feeling housebound today and is actually mad that we aren't driving anywhere. Love your little creation! You are so talented! Thanks for sharing! XO

  2. That is a REALLY cute wreath, Judy. I know you would have put your own spin on the original anyway. This weather is awful here, too- wind chills way below zero for the next couple of days. I just hate it!!!!

Poor Bella. Glad she is on the mend. We just feel helpless when our pets are ill. xo Diana

  6. Love your banner and it looks so Springy - you did a wonderful job on it.
Oh poor Bella, the med were probably to strong for her. Make her some chicken broth and mix it with her feed - she will love that. I always have to make a big batch as the dogs just love it. I get the Swanson's low sodium broth. You know what they say about chicken soup - heals you.
So sorry about your weather - stay warm.

  11. That's really cute. I miss our Michaels. Hobby Lobby took over their space. They used to be right around the corner anyway. I have been spending way too much time there lately.
Poor Bella. She looks sad. Pumpkin is really good for dogs too. When mine get tummy aches I boil some rice and mix it with pumpkin and they love it.
Just let me know when you want your money. We are getting snowed in again. I have packages here that need mailed, like forever, hah.

  22. Cute spring wreath, Judy! It's still bitter cold here but we're in for a warm-up this weekend and then supposedly near 50 by Tues. Can't wait. Bella's no different than humans on antibiotics - they tear up your stomach because they kill the bad bacteria as well as the good. I take a probiotic every day just because they're so good for you and your digestion, but it's even more important to take one when you're on antibiotics. Poor pup - hope she feels better soon!

Have a wonderful weekend . . . spring will soon be here!

  30. Poor Bella! I hope she feels better soon! Corey (my daughter's dog) apparently swallowed a whole bunch of dirt whilst digging to china and threw up all over my white slipcovered sofa (which he's not supposed to be on anyway)!

    That's an adorable project!
