Moving Right Along

\

Tomorrow is demolition day for the kitchen and the hall bath.  Here are some before photos of the kitchen and hall bath.  I am keeping my cabinets because they are all solid wood.  Haven't decided yet if I'm going to paint part of them or not.

Kitchen wallpaper on two walls that I have loved because you can put anything on it.  But, it's time for a change.

Floral wallpaper is going, going, going.

Hip, hip, hooray!  Pink tile will be gone.

And now for the during part!!

I am so amazed at how fast these two carpenters are moving.

See the little Weeping Cherry tree we moved on the right side?  So glad I could save it.

So, this is where we are at as of Thursday afternoon.  They start tearing out the whole bathroom and the Formica, sink, appliances, etc. in the kitchen bright and early in the morning.  They will also install the new shower in my master bath and new toilet.

I'm not a morning person and these early hours are about to do me in.  LOL

Enjoy!

Judy

  1. Glad to know someone else is not a morning person. I love to stay up late and sleep in. Sometimes I feel guilty for sleeping until 9:30 or 10:00 but I guess when you don't go to bed before 3:00 you need that. By the way, the guilt doesn't last long. That's retirement - sleeping as late as you want. You are going to love your new updates.

  4. Wow Judy, and that's wonderful...how amazing is that going to look like when you are all done. It's almost going to feel like a entirely new house. Lot's of noise, confusion, and work going on there, but in the end imagine how lovely it's going to be!!

  5. Judy, you had lots of storage in your kitchen before. That's nice. Are you going with lighter cabinets this time?

    Loving your progress.

  11. I'm not a morning person either. I've been taking down some wallpaper border that had been in my living room/dining room for over 20 years. It was time to see it go!! I know you will enjoy your new screened in porch...we've thought about putting one in.

  15. Judy,
This is so fun that you are sharing these reno's with us. They are really working hard on the back sun room. I know the bathroom and kitchen will be beautiful too. I will be excited to see more as they move along. Happy Week End.

  16. I agree keep the kitchen cabinets, they are beautiful. I would paint them but that's just me. I had to laugh at the pink bathroom tiles, you know they're coming back in style again soon. The renovations are taking shape and Im sure you will be so happy with the finished product.

  17. Lots of wonderful progress, Judy! Glad you saved the little cherry tree. I know what you mean about early starts with workmen arriving....that is one of the most exhausting aspects of it I think!
Hope you find a little bit of peace and quiet now and then this week.......it is all good in the long run though!
