The Week After

With our family all having children with children and in laws, we (Jeannie, Rita and I) decided to do our Christmas celebration with our families the weekend after Christmas.  So, Sunday was that day.

Despite the pouring down rain (we got approximately 10" on Sunday and Monday with the addition of snow on Monday), Tiffany and I drove to Pryor to visit the family.  The entire family was not there due to various reasons but we had a delightful time.

We decided last year to order pizza and just have time to visit rather than cook and clean up.  It worked perfectly!

The first photo is Jeannie, me and Rita.  I am the oldest, then Jeannie and then Rita.

These are the four granddaughters of my folks that were there.

We had the pleasure of meeting our newest member of the family - Cade.  He was precious. It was the first time for some of us to get to play with him.

I am so grateful for my family - both the ones who were there and the ones who weren't able to attend.  My family has always been very close and we are so supportive of each other.  When I hear of family members not getting along, it breaks my heart.  Family is so precious and we should enjoy every minute we have the chance to spend with them.

Hope your holidays were happy and blessed.  Mine definitely was.

  1. Judy, I love that your family is close. We used to be when our parents were still here. But we sisters still make an effort to be. My children are close and that is all I ask of them...that they will always try to make sister be together. Blessings to all of you, xoxo,Susie
p.s. this is the first time I've been able to leave a comment in some time. I am loving how you fixed the kitchen/.:):)

  2. I agree.. I can't imagine letting things break families apart. My husband isn't speaking to his younger 2 sisters due to his parents leaving everything to the "baby" of the family. I'm glad my parents were pretty equal in how they loved their kids.

  3. So sorry about your's terrible everywhere. Your holiday menu sounds perfect! I love seeing your family pictures, I can see the resemblance.

    Happy New Year, dear friend!

  4. I like decision for the easy pizza. I've tried to convince my family to go the easy route, but it hasn't worked out that way.

  5. I am thankful for family too:) Nobody loves us like family! Enjoy the rest of your year dear friend, HUGS!

  6. Judy I am so glad you got some great family time. I'm getting some this week!

  7. I'm glad to hear you had a lovely and supportive time with your family at Christmas. xoxo

  8. Judy, so glad you got to spend time with your sisters and their family. I am lovin' the red top you have on, just right for Christmas. I bet it was delightful seeing the newest member of the family, Cade. Me and my brothers and sister met for lunch three days before Christmas, and it was a nice time for all. I know what you mean about being close to the family. I think it's important, and what my mom would want for us. :)

May the new year be a good one for me and you, Judy.

    love, ~Sheri

  9. Judy, it sounds like it was a wonderful day. I agree. Blessings for the New Year. xoxo Su
