My First Peony of Spring

I was so excited to cut my first peony out of my back yard and bring in to enjoy in the house.

I put it in a white pitcher and sit it atop two pieces of pink Depression on a white cutwork ceramic cake plate.

Isn't she a beauty?

Enjoy!

Judy

  1. Favourite spring flower. The buds are getting bigger and the ants are having peony parties. Can't wait till they bloom. Hugs.

    1. Are ants always around the peonies? I've never had them before but I did notice ants on the bloom I brought in. Oh well, their beauty definitely outweighs a few ants. LOL

  2. It is such a wonderful time of year for those of us that love our gardens regardless of their size and complexity. Fabulous peony! My white peony is very close to blooming meantime the ants are riotous. I admire your courage with your new home. Lovely.

  6. It is beautiful Judy. I wish we could grow them here in SO CA, but they do not do well at all. So I will look at your beautiful flower and enjoy it.

    Have a great sunny week.

    1. Yes, every day something new and beautiful pops up. I never know what to expect but, so far, it's all been gorgeous. I am really not a gardener but am certainly the fruits of labor of the previous owners.

  15. So glad I got to see what the Peony looks like. Someone told me that I should plant some in my garden. They look like sturdy flowers, and similar to the rose. Your pink peony is pretty.
