A Fun and Busy Week

This last week has been exciting and cause for celebrations.

Our precious Laynee turned five.  She had a blast at her birthday party.

The theme was "Princesses" (what else could it have possibly have been).  We had a bouncy house that had princesses and also the cake was princess themed.

The cake was so cute.  It was actually all cupcakes underneath.  Perfect for the kids.  We had fried chicken, baked beans, potatoe chips and fruit.  Thanks to Grandma Debi for all of the delicious food.

My granddaughter Cassie has graduated with her RN degree.  She passed her tests this last week and today is getting married!!  What a whirlwind of stressful events for her.

This is at her shower last weekend.  Her sister Caren is the blonde.  She had a great shower.

The weather has been so warm.  Lots of sunshine but temps all week in the high 90's with the heat factor up to 115 - 116.  But, the clouds are gorgeous.

Because of the heat, Bella and I have been staying inside alot.

Does this say comfort or what?  And yes, she does sleep on my bed but has her own pillow.  She has been having a lot of trouble with allergies this year.  So, yesterday we went to the vet for routine visit and they started her on some allergy meds.

Now, for a walk around the yard.

My Morning Glory tree is almost 5' tall - growing like crazy.  No flowers yet tho.

Still getting beautiful yellow roses.  Sweet memories of John.

Hostas are blooming like crazy.

I planted this flower tower a few weeks ago and the impatients are growing great.

And the elephant ear bulbs I planted are popping up.

Enjoy!

Judy

    1. Yes, she is precious. Wedding was tonight and was fantastic. It was outside for the ceremony and it was so hot! But we all survived and had a great evening.

I do miss John so much. I keep thinking how much he would be enjoying the new home. I'm just so glad that Tiffany and her girls will be living in the house and I'll be able to go there anytime I want. So many memories there.

      Have a great weekend.

      Thanks for visiting.

  16. Happy birthday to Laynee and congratulations to Cassie on both her RN and getting married! Such wonderful celebrations in your family and I know you wish John were with you to witness all these wonderful events. Love your flower tree - have never seen anything like that. Bella is so cute and looks so comfortable in your bed with her own pillow! What kind of allergies does she have...are they skin allergies? My mom's dog had a lot of skin allergies and she changed her diet to an all-natural one and now she's fine.

    1. Thanks Melanie. It's been a good week. Yes, I can't help but think how much John would have enjoyed all of these things. But, he's watching over everything I know. Bella has grass allergies. And they have just started since we moved. I worry that there is something in the flower beds, etc. to have set them off. But, vet says this is the worse summer ever for dogs.

      Thanks for dropping by.

I wish I had a piece to go with my coffee this morning. Congratulations to your granddaughter for getting her RN degree, that's very special, indeed. I always enjoy seeing the flowers in your garden, Judy. The elephant ears are something else.

  18. Happy Birthday to sweet Laynee. Love the princess theme. So adorable. Congrats to your granddaughter for getting her RN. Being an RN I know how hard the work is and how much dedication you have to have in school.

    1. Thanks Kris. Yes, Cassie is a wonder - doing all that she does. She took her nursing exam five days before her wedding. I couldn't believe it but she said she wanted to know if she passed before they left on their honeymoon to Thailand. Then she starts back to work as soon as they return. They have bought property out on the lake and are building a new home. Lots of new adventures for them and they so deserve it.

  19. Looks like a wonderful Birthday party. Congratulations to your own nurse - how great is that and getting married next week WOW.

Bella looks just like Lili when she is laying up in my bed. They both only go out to go to there job and are right back into the A/C, Right now Lili is laying here beside me on the tile floor - as it cool there.

You flowers are stunning and so many different kinds of pretty flowers.

We are in the 100's also - so very HOT. Stay cool and enjoy your new home.

    1. Thanks Shelia. Yes, we had a really good week. Bella is doing well on her allergy meds. I'm pretty well settled in my new home. Just have a few things to finish up in each room. Right now, we have my old home completely cleaned out (as of yesterday) and carpets are being cleaned this week and Tiff and her three little ones will start moving next weekend. So, I will be helping her as much as I can to help get her and the girls settled. Then, I can concentrate on finishing up my home.

Thanks for dropping by. Good to hear from you.
