I Am Ready For Summer!

Well, my Grandson finally got my deck and pergola finished and I am in love with it.  We still have to stain the steps the same color as the Trex decking but it will have to wait until it gets above 31 degrees.  BRRR!

I am so pleased with it and anxious for warm weather to get here.  Bella and Laynee have already played out there quite a bit, but then it turned into winter again.

He also put the lattice around the base of my storage building.  I was continually having to pull Bella out of the underneath while she was chasing the squirrels. She would get under it and then get stuck. We don't have near as many since the big tree was cut down. See the tree stump on the right side??  We are going to make some kind of little table for the girls to play on.

I haven't decided where I'm going to put the small wrought iron table so am waiting till I have time to play with that before mounting the chandelier.  Can't wait to get the white sheer curtains up either but that will be in good ole summertime.

I have plants popping up everywhere.  This crazy Oklahoma weather is driving the flowers really crazy.  It's in the 70's one day and then 30's the next.  They don't know what to think.

Enjoy!

Judy

  1. Judy, Your deck and pergola look SOOO great! What a nice addition to your home. I know you will love it. The lattice around that base really serves two purposes-it works as a barrier but also really dresses it up and it looks cute.
Hope you have a great night- xo Diana

    1. Thanks Diana. I know I will thoroughly enjoy it until the mosquitos take over and then we'll move to the screened in porch. LOL The deck is so much safer than the three odd size steps that were there before. Funny how much I am so more cautious about things like that as I age. LOL

      Have a wonderful weekend.

  2. Wow! Your deck and pergola are gorgeous! Your grandson did a fantastic job. Does he want to travel to IL and build one for me, too? ;-) I bet you can't wait until you can actually sit out there and enjoy it. Can't believe you have flowers popping up already. Still very cold here in IL - 21 today. We won't see anything green coming out of the ground for at least 6-7 more weeks.

  4. Love the pergola Judy and can't wait until you have the chandelier up and the curtains screening the sunshine. Good dream. It was 9 degree Celsius today - and apparently we are to have snow and rain and snow etc for the next 5 days.

  9. Your Pergola is gorgeous. I can't wait to see it in the warmer weather. I think I am going to have the hubby put lattice under our shed too because a stray cat lives under there and eats the bunnies, don't much enjoy that.

    1. Thanks Cindy! The lattice was a necessity because Bella (my dog) kept chasing squirrels under there and would get stuck and I'd have to pull her out. LOL

So now, she nor the squirrels can get under there.

Have a good weekend and thanks for visiting.

  10. Looks great Judy. I know you are going to enjoy that deck when the weather gets nicer. Looking beautiful. I think a table out of that old tree stump will be fabulous. I can see the girls having lots of fun out there. I am hoping for an early Spring and then a quick jump into Summer. I am so wanting winter to be over. Have a great Friday and wonderful weekend.

  11. Hi Judy, Love your deck and pergola. What a wonderful spot this is to enjoy the nice weather once outside when the weather breaks. Love your darling shed too. The temps have been all over the place here too but predicted to be near 80 next week. You are right, the flowers are all confused. Have a nice weekend. xo
