Enjoying the Beauty While I Can

My yard is abloom (is that a word?) with everything popping up out of the ground.  Yesterday was 85 degrees and the Saturday morning temp is suppose to be 25 degrees.  YIPES!  What are these plants suppose to think?

Anyway, went out and took a few photos of what's going on in my yard...

the Redbud tree is just beginning to bud out.

So hopefully, the freeze won't kill everything.

Won the cutest tote bag from Kris @ Junk Chic Cottage.  Is is so SPRINGY!  Thanks Kris.

Put a pretty blue wreath on the front porch.

This last week I had a new sidewalk poured.  It is so nice.  The old one was cracked and uneven and was really a danger to everyone so, I replaced it.

Don't think I ever told you all the story behind my Toyota Rav 4.

The day before John passed away, we had been out looking at cars.  We had decided this was the one we wanted.

Several weeks after John passed, I was sorting out some things and in his nightstand by his bed was an envelope.  It said "Judy - for your car".  I opened it and there was cash to pay for the car.  I, of course, cried and never knew how long it had been there.

I was so blessed to have John for so many years and he always took such good care of me.  He still to this day provides for me in amazing ways.  I miss him so.  But, I am so blessed and thankful for the time I did have with him.  He was a wonderful Christian man.

Now on to happier things...

Bella is wanting to try out for the Cadbury Egg Bunny.  Her only problem is she can't leave the eggs alone.  Of course, I know chocolate is very dangerous for dogs and don't let her have it.  But the smell drives her crazy.

Enjoy the weekend.

Judy

    1. Yes, weather seems to be crazy everywhere! We have a chance of snow flurries this evening but I think they are pretty small. The new sidewalk is really nice and safe. I always warned everyone that was coming to be careful on the sidewalk and wouldn't you know, I was the only one who fell on it? LOL

      Thanks for visiting.

  6. Oh, Judy...that story about John and the car brought tears to my eyes! I just showed that part to Brian - and I thanked him for taking such good care of me.
Can't believe it was 85 degrees there already. Too hot, too soon! Crazy that it's going to drop 60 degrees. Our weather here in IL has been all over the place, too. Just the past few days we had thunderstorms, tornado warnings, then a few days of 60 mph wind gusts, now snow is coming Monday and Tues.

    1. Thanks Melanie. I was and am truly blessed to have John in my life. We so take every day for granted and surely need to enjoy and appreciate each and every day we have with loved ones. Our weather has been crazy. We're having slow and steady rain today.

Thanks for dropping by. Hope you're feeling better each and every day.

  7. your garden is way ahead of mine. The poor flowers are just putting up the first little green points, and probably froze in place. We went from 60 degrees last week to wind chills way below zero today. This weekend I am going to buy a couple of spring potted plants to keep in the house and then put out when the ground is ready. I do that most Springs just to get me in the mood.

  8. Oh how wonderful that John left you that envelope, what a wonderful man. You were so lucky to have such a kind thoughtful husband and I know he is looking down on you from heaven.

Yard looks good with all your Spring flowers in bloom. Love the red bud trees. The branches look so good put into a vase.

Bella is definitely a special bunny. My Waldo is like that when he smells chocolate - drives him crazy.

Have a wonderful weekend and hopefully your weather will warm up.

  17. I remember well those springs in Oklahoma. It's such a beautiful time of year but you never know what to expect...snow or tornados...or maybe all of it in one day. Love it when those redbuds bloom.

Your John was one heck of a man. It makes my heart happy to read the story of your car. ♥
