I am not real good at vignettes, but am trying to learn to do better. When you have a friend like Brenda at cozylittlehouse.com who just touches things and they turn into a beautiful vignette, it's a little challenging.
But, I'm learning as I go.
This morning, I started out with the white plate, crown and two birds with crowns and started adding. It became very apparent that I needed some color.
So, I added a vintage rose plate and some red Bakelite topped salt and pepper shakers.
It looks better to me.
I added the precious little framed quote that dear, sweet Becky of sweetcottagedreams.blogspot.com sent me in a package for Christmas. It means so much to me - coming from her.
Thanks Becky! I will always treasure this.
I then, took away the red and added this cute little blue set I have. Does anyone know why I have two different pitchers?
I changed the blues to a darker blue including the Flow Blue platter that was my Mom's, an old vintage lamp, spoon container, gravy bowl and antique silver pieces.
Sorry about the shadows!! We haven't had sun in several days and this is with curtains open and lights on. But, I still get shadows.
Closer to February, I will add some of my Mom's Depression Glass and use it with my big pink heart wreath.
So, here we go, 2013!!
Happy New Year!
Enjoy!
Till next time, Judy
Judy- You did a marvelous job! I think you have a knack for vignettes! Blessings- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI think you nailed doing vignettes, Judy, each is so beautiful! Love the Depression glass. So lovely. Happy New year to you also!
ReplyDeleteJudy you are doing a great job with your vignettes. I think it just takes 'playing around' with things until they look pleasing to your eye! I think you have two pots since one is coffee and the other tea?? just guessing! I'm ready for some January vignettes now!
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
Look forward to seeing your Mom's depression ware.
ReplyDeleteAll your vignette's look great. Love the little crown and the flow blue

ReplyDeleteI think you're doing great with your vignettes! My favorite is the first one with the touches of red.
ReplyDeleteLovely vignette! I love that framed quote. So sweet!

I love all of your pretty things...you really do have the touch, too! Brenda is amazing and I'm always trying to learn from her AND from you! Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteI thought each of your vignettes was lovely. I had to go back and study each pic several times. I am going to be keeping my eyes open for some "crown" things. Those little birds were adorable. And then the vignette with the bright colorful pitchers. That was very pretty too. The colorful pattern was very eyecatching. And then your blue and white vignette! I collect delft blue items and you displayed them beautifully. Your pink collection was very pretty. For some reason for the past few weeks all things pink have really been grabbing me. I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your pretty pink collectibles in the near future. Your post today has really inspired me to try my hand at doing some vignettes for my post. Yours were so fun to see. Thanks for sharing them with us.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes and Happy New Year!
Your vignettes are wonderful, Judy! It comes naturally to some but I have to work at it. Don't give up, you'll know when it's just right for YOU!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
What are those cute little birds with crowns?
ReplyDeleteI like the shadows on the wall. Gives it a little more depth.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I think you are doing a great job. That is something I just don't do well. Many blessing this coming year for you. YOu are such a kind person.
ReplyDeleteI love the shadows....Lovely vignettes. it's so much fun to create and stand back and admire them. Happy new year.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! You have the eye of an artist. I love those 2 birds with the crowns. I've never seen them before. Do you have 2 pitchers so there is one for tea and one for coffee? Or as the English would do...one for tea and one for cream? It all looks great. Thanks for sharing all the ideas you have.
ReplyDeleteCheery wave!
Bev
Looks like you are doing a great job creating them. I really like the red with the white. I need to make some changes around my home to give it a fresh look.
ReplyDeleteHi Judy - I love your vignettes. I don't have a natural talent at it but it looks like you do (or Brenda is rubbing off on you!)
ReplyDeleteIs the extra jug for hot chocolate? J
Each one is beautiful. The two pitchers...looks like one might be a creamer ??
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous! You do a fabulous job putting these vignettes together! I love them all but those birds with crowns take the cake! Sweet!
