My Newest Obsession!!

Oh my gosh!!  This is my newest obsession!!  I got a dollhouse.  I had bought a kit and have just never gotten around to even opening the box.  I have been picking up doll furniture, accessories, etc. for a while and suddenly......

There she was in all her elegant glory!

All ready to be decorated and filled with miniature wonders.

I weighed over in my mind if I had the mental capacity to put the other dollhouse together or not.....

Didn't think long about that one!

She will have to have a name of course, but the good news is that she is all put together and I can just start decorating.

Yippee!!

I'm hating the thought of going off and leaving her for a month while we are on vacation, but figure I can take my photos and start planning what I am going to do where.

With all of these rooms, I will be able to do a lot of different things.  I really don't want the old Victorian look on the inside but more of a casual, more updated look.

I can hardly wait!!

Enjoy!

Till next time, Judy

  2. Love the french doors out onto the balcony - that's a great feature, as many dollhouses have no side windows or doors. I can't wait to see what you do with it! Squeal! It's so gorgeous!!

  6. Oh it's so pretty! I have a friend who did one and used fabric for wallpaper (with Modge Podge). It's really pretty. Let me know what color and size and I'll make a miniature quilt for it. Really! XO

  19. I built my daughter a dollhouse when she was 6. It was so much fun to decorate. It was a birthday gift and on her party invitation I mentioned the dollhouse so all of her gifts were furniture and things for her house.

It is in the attic waiting for the love of a grandchild someday.

    Have fun with your house.

  21. Oh Judy, you are going to have so much fun decorating it. I had one that was a gift from my friend and kept it for about 15 years. I was redecorating the den and I gave it to a little girl that hardly had any toys - she cried when I gave it to her. She couldn't believe that someone would do that for her. So hopefully mine was played with a lot. I miss having one and maybe I will get another one someday.
    Enjoy your new find.

  31. Judy--
You have a wonderful Doll house here. I got mine back in the Fall. I've done a little bit here and there with it.
I made myself a promise not to work on it except to reward myself for little tasks that I get done around my REAL HOUSE!
I'm chomping at the bit to do some more work on it.
You have a big one. Mine is a little doll house. But I'm ok with it...You're going to have such fun!
    I've enjoyed working in mine!
