A Little Away Time!

See this darling girl - really, both of them.  This is Laynee and our granddaughter Tiffany.  Tiffany has always been a very integral part of our life.  She came to live with us when she was three years old and has been such a source of pleasure to us.

She was an excellent student, a joy to all of her teachers and excelled in so many school activities.  She played golf, had leading parts in the school musicals and was a Company Commander in her ROTC unit that went to National Competition three years in a row.

She went to college and has a fantastic job as a Chiropractic Assistant for a great doctor, Dr. Travis Ring of Eastern Oklahoma Chiropractic. If you ever need a chiropractor, I highly recommend him.

Last weekend, Tiffany and I painted his logo on his wall in the entry of his business.  We had fun doing it and I think it looks pretty good.

Anyway, this precious girl took off on Friday and stayed with John on Thursday, Friday and Saturday while I took a few days off.  This is the first time I've left John since he got so ill last July.

I drove to Neosha, MO where my sister Jeannie lives, to their Citywide Garage Sale which was Friday and Saturday.  My other sister Rita came also and we had a ball.  I was a little uncomfortable leaving John but Tiffany called me every few hours with an update on how everything was going just fine.

This town shuts down streets and the traffic is horrible.

But, it is so much fun.

I didn't find a whole lot but did find some things I'll share with you later.  This little trip is a yearly thing my sisters and I do for our "Sisters Weekend".  We lost our baby sister, Jane, several years ago and vowed that we would take more time for each other. We are very close and my sisters are so very dear to me.  I am very blessed to have them.

I also found a perfect washing machine for Brenda.  However, due to the fact that it was old but still brand new, it hadn't never been used, it was very expensive.

Well, I tried!!

Thanks for all of you who contacted me because I'd been away for a few days from my blog.  I'm fine and glad to be back home!

Enjoy!

Judy

My grandson (19) has lived with us most of his life and he is like a son to us.

  6. Hi Judy, nice to meet you and I am your newest follower.

My grandmother had a washer like that on her screened in porch in Garber OK. Hers was not new and pristine though.

The Tulsa swap meet sounds like fun,

  10. So glad that you could get away with your sisters, Judy. You needed that and so happy that that dear girl could stay with John.
That washing machine reminds me of the one we had at home to do the laundry. We sure are spoiled now aren't we?
    Have a great week Judy.

  11. Judy- I am so glad that you got away for a while. It is so hard to leave a spouse when they are ill. I have been in your shoes and it is not an easy walk. I know.

I am so glad that you got to see your sister(s). What a blessing. I so much wished I had been given the gift of a sister. You ARE blessed- xo Diana

  17. Good to hear that you were able to visit your sisters for a few days. That's a great washer!! I meant to tell Brenda that I saw a washer that's meant for apartments and you hook it up to your kitchen sink. It sits on top of the counter. You can only do small loads at a time. Forget what it was called :)
