Saturday's Treasures 5/3/2014

This has been a fun week.  On Monday, I had to go to a little town about 45 minutes from Tulsa.  And guess what I found on the way?  An antique store!  Imagine that!!  Then I went to an Estate Sale, the Flea Market and hit some garage sales.  So, here's the scoop on my loot!

I found quite few doilies, crocheted potholders and trim....

Two really pretty Cobalt blue pieces of Depression Glass...

a Mother's plaque (I have a whole hallway filled with these and I just keep finding them), a dainty little wall pocket with blue birds, three different vintage saucers, a serving dish, a small blue pitcher/creamer, two little teacups, and these....

I got three of these little rounded glass jars with metal lids.  They have been painted but are really worn off.  Does anyone have an idea what these are?

Found this dainty little cherry plate and this glass piece with cherries on it - don't know exactly what it is either.  Notice the bright red tablecloth with yellow forsythias on it?

A world globe, a whole roll of red and white dotted ribbon and this box full of these little green plaques.....

Love this Campbell Soup girl.  She's wood and very distressed.  In each hand is a small cup hook to hold potholders in the kitchen.  Should I brighten her up or leave her as is????

And last, but not least, I got this sweet smoking table.  It needs some work but the size is so cute.  It has a shelf on the inside.

Another successful week!

Enjoy!

Judy

  4. Judy, I just love Depression Glass! I am fortunate enough to have several pieces in pink, but no others. The blue is wonderful.
I love the little Campbell's Soup Girl. If I were going to keep her for myself, I would paint her. She doesn't look as much distressed as dirty. That could just be me.
    Thanks for sharing.

  6. Maybe the little jars with lids once contained face cream. If the little glass piece with cherries on it is small it might be for toothpicks - if it is larger it might be for spoons. Whatever it it - it is certainly cute.

  7. It's very hard to pick a favorite, but I do think your Campbell's Soup girl is rare, so I would pick it. I wouldn't paint it because whoever buys it might want to chose their own colours..

  8. Oh my, your treasures are just delightful. Love the campbell soup girl. I would leave her as is and just enjoy ~

  9. Jar with the painted lid - powder jar? Go on ebay, type in small, vintage glass jar with painted lid.
Also, click on images on the main google page and you will see some there also.
Really like the blue plate. Cobalt blue is my favorite shade of blue. Definitely looks like a successful sale hopping day. :)
    Have a great week.

  10. Nothing better than a little junking adventure when you're out running errands. Wonderful vintage finds. I especially like the sweet Campbell's Soup girl. I'd gently clean her, but leave the paint as is.

  20. ok first of all...don't touch the Campbell's girl. I love the distress on her...Secondly, I think those jars were for Talcum Powder. Just a slight memories from my mother's dressing table.

  24. Had no idea Depression glass came in cobalt. It is lovely. I think you probably got a really terrific price on the Campbell soup kid and could resell it for much more than you paid - but ONLY if it is not repainted! Please investigate them.I think it is a great piece!

  28. Love the globe, Judy! I've been thinking a collection of those in our home office would look good on top of the book cases. Especially since my husband mainly uses this room when he is working from home. Right now I have one, so I better get looking!
