I Know What I'm Planting Next Year!!

Remember last Spring when I so painstakingly made this delicate little vintage saucer flower bed?

I carefully placed the saucers in a circle making sure the colors all blended with the next one.

WELL!!

So much for all of that work. The Sweet Potato Vine totally grew out over the little border and took over the back yard.

It's not all bad tho.  When it dies out, I'll take out the china pieces and from now on out, all I'll probably plant is this.  It grows like crazy!

My kind of plant!

Enjoy!

  9. Hi Judy,
Sweet Potato Vines are the greatest growing plant. I had them last year in my flower box on my porch and that vine grow down the porch and side walk and then down the drive. They are so hearty. Loved your little plates for lining. Super cute.

  12. I love those vines! They do really grow so well that they often crowd out my flowers.
I don't know about OK, but it's supposed to be well below freezing tomorrow night here in MO. Stay warm!

  13. Oh- I love it- love the looks of it. My potato vine is a bright lime green though and did not do nearly as well as yours did. It is beautiful. Guess the plates will be going somewhere else now. xo Diana

  16. Such a shame that your pretty saucers got swamped, but how great that the plants were so happy! I am sure that your saucers will make another beautiful arrangement somewhere else in your garden! I hope that things are still going as well for you as they can. Thinking of you still. xx
