Progress

This is the latest progress on my new home.  The living room and dining room are done in these colors.  The floral fabric is what the dining room chair seats will be upholstered in.  The living room is going to have two linen chairs in the teal color as in the afghan and throw pillows.  My sofa is a tan color.  The curtains in those two rooms is a tan linen on wooden rod with wooden rings.

My baker's rack got moved into the breakfast room once I got all of the floor finished.

This is the guest room.  The painted red bed minus the tall posters.  They are getting a second coat of paint.

I love this little painted cabinet that went in the guest room.  I am hoping that all of my red transferware dishes will look good in it - if they are not too busy.

The "monster" armoire got moved into the master bedroom once the carpet got installed.  The poor guys had to scoot it down the hall, thru the den and breakfast room, out the screened in patio and across the yard, then brought in thru the sliding doors off of the master bedroom.  WHEW!

The start of the den with yellow walls, blue rug and red accents.

So.... this is what I have accomplished this last week.  I am hoping to make the curtains, bedskirt, etc. for the guest room this week.

Wish me luck!!

Enjoy!

Judy

    1. Thanks Deb. Funny thing is that I have a sectional in storage that is in a big buffalo check in blue and white. That's what I intend to put in that den where the red sofa is now. The red sofa is suppose to go in the workroom area. That's the reasoning for the blue rug. Guess I'll just see which I like best when the time comes,

  4. It's coming together nicely! Your den looks so cozy with the red sofa. I am dying for a red slipcover for mine. That was quite a journey for the new carpet.

    1. Thanks. I just work a little day by day and it is slowly coming together. The red sofa is an Ethan Allen ultrasuede sofa that I bought for $200 at an Estate Sale. Love it!

  6. It's coming along beautifully. I had that sort of trouble with our armoires too.. the beauty of an older home. xoox Su

    1. Thanks Su - The newer homes are not built for older furniture for sure. The green armoire had a fleur-de-lis on the top that we had to take off because it wouldn't fit. Thankfully, it just unscrewed and the wood was all finished underneath.

  19. You are speaking my colour language! I love what you've done with the bed. I have two little single four-posters in the guest room and they are very worn and tired-looking. I love the red and now you've given me something to think about.

    1. Thanks! The bed was a real pain to paint with all of the carving and detail but I love how it turned out. I used a chalk pint so I didn't have to do any prep - just paint.

  30. You ARE making progress, Judy. It takes time, little by little. That baker's rack is cool. I used to have one similar until I gave it to Jess, and she ended up giving it away in all her moves. I miss it. Keep going, Judy. Your house will feel like a home in no time.
