Success!!

Remember the pinkish chairs a friend gave me?

Well - they are pink no more.  Kind of a mossy green.  I have two different bed comforters and they both have this mossy green in them.

I used the fabric medium and a latex paint I already had.  I will have to let you know what brand it was - it is still over at the new house.  But, I was delighted with the process.

I misted the chairs and then painted with a mixture of fabric medium, latex paint and water.  It covered the pink wonderfully.  I will let them dry overnight and then sand them lightly and add another coat of paint.  I really think two coats will do the job.

I'm so excited.  I thought I would give it a try and if it didn't work out, then I would upholster them.  So, I am delighted that they look so good.

Got the breakfast room curtains hung.  The sun was so bright today (yea!!) that the curtains didn't show up real well.  But, they look great.  The wall light will be replaced with a vintage red wall light when the electrician gets here.

I finally got to hang this darling Mason Jar canvas that I have had forever.  I will eventually cover up the trim on the pass thru.  This is in the breakfast room with the pass thru to the kitchen.

I'm tired tonight.

Enjoy!

    1. Thanks Linda. Am anxious to sand and put the second coat on tomorrow! The color turned out exactly as the paint. I was afraid the medium would soften the color but it didn't.

      Thanks for visiting.

    1. Thanks Joy! Sure beats having to upholster them. I too, am anxious to see how the sanding and second turns out. They are in my bedroom so they don't have to be perfect. They will sure look better than the pink. And free too!!

      Thanks for visiting.

    1. I figured I didn't really have much to lose. I went to Michael's and bought the cheapest fabric medium. It worked wonderfully.

      Thanks for visiting,

  6. The chairs turned out great.

I 'like' your curly trim, but I'm not you and you are the one who will have to live with it, or not. :-)

You are having a ball and are an inspiration to me.

Have a great day ~ FlowerLady

  8. Thanks for sharing this Judy. I remember seeing this done on HGTV years ago and I wondered if it really worked. I have some barstool seats that I might try this on before recovering them!!

  17. If the fabric otherwise has integrity, it seems that painting the fabric gives a longer life to the upholstery . I've never tried it. xoxo Su
