New Item For the Screened In Patio

Today, I decided to make a quick trip to the Tulsa Flea Market before going to the old house to work on finishing up packing odds and ends.

The first booth I saw was one with a lot of gorgeous pieces.  This one  was calling my name.  It is an old door with some beautiful old pieces making it into this wonderful item.

It has a small table attached at the bottom for shelving.

An awesome vintage milkglass door knob and plate.

The spindles are stained darker and the vintage hooks are located on each post.

The top cornice was also vintage. And underneath the cornice is a strip of lighting.  Won't this be gorgeous at night on the patio?

I am just thrilled with this new piece of vintage.  The lady who made it said almost every piece was from a home that was being taken down that was built in 1909.

My other purchase was this.  It is a Morning Glory Tree!!  They said it would get about 4-5' tall. So, I rushed home and got it planted.

Also, planted this pretty concrete planter with these tiny yellow "something bells".  It will get a lot of sun so hopefully, it'll take off.

So, then I went and packed and packed and packed!!

ENJOY!

Judy

  1. Love your new vintage piece! Someone was very clever how they made that with the old door and other pieces. I have never heard of a Morning Glory tree. Will have to look that up. Don't work too hard, Judy - get some rest, too!

    1. Thanks Melanie. I had been wanting something like this for the screened in porch. Had some of the pieces but would have never gotten it to look like this.

Am anxious to see how the Morning glory tree goes.

  2. Oh my gosh, I love that door, it is beautiful and I think it will look terrific where ever you put it.

I have never heard of a Morning Glory Tree, but I did have some Morning Glory vine, which took over everything and I had a terrible time of getting rid of it. But, it sure was pretty.

Don't work to hard and looking forward to seeing all the lovely things you have accomplished in your new home.

    1. Thanks Mary. I just fell in love with it the minute I saw it. I am anxious to see how the Morning Glory tree does.

Am about to finish up a couple of rooms. Am helping Tiffany work on my old house for her to move in to in the next month or so. We painted Laynee's room pink today. She will be so excited.

  10. I've also never heard of a morning glory tree but morning glory vine can take over just about everything...I love that piece and I so want a milk glass door knob...never heard of it before and I want it. So don't invite me out because I'll have to steal, no borrow it .

    1. I am anxious to see how the Morning Glory tree does. I am going to plant actual Morning Glories next year along the fence line. I love them but they are invasive. If I find another milk glass door knob, I'll get it for you.

    1. Well, you may have to come to Tulsa!! They have ours almost every Saturday unless there is something big being held at the fairgrounds. They also close for about 6 weeks before, during and after the fair.

      It's a Tulsa tradition.'
