I'm Back!!

I cannot believe it has been over two weeks since I posted.  I have been busy - like crazy busy.  Our "Bronzer" group which is our Christmas party bunch has breakfast once a month to just visit.  I had the bright idea to have them here to have breakfast and see my new home.

So, needless to say, I've been cleaning and trying to finish up a lot of things before they came.  I really had fun preparing all of the food.  I made a Sausage and Hash Brown casserole, a Bacon Strata, a French Toast Casserole, Cracker Barrel's Hash Brown Potato Casserole, Blueberry bagels and Fresh Fruit.  YUM!

I had to have one of the girls bring coffee and a coffee pot.  I don't even own one.

But, it was so worth it.  We had such a good time.

I have been working trying to finish up all of the rooms in the house so I can concentrate on my Etsy shop.

My flowers are doing well. Again, the lady who lived here knew how to garden.  Just as soon as one round of flowers die off, another completely different group bloom out.

Have lots of zinnias right now.

My rose bush has started reblooming.  Just another little sign from my John.

My Morning Glory tree is growing like crazy.  No flowers yet, but....

Bella says hello and she's missed you all.

Another thing that has occupied quite a bit of my time is my doctor's visits.

I have frequent bouts with pancreatitis.  I was having some problems a few weeks back and Dr. ordered an ultrasound.

It came back showing an inflamed gall bladder.  So, guess what?  I don't have a gall bladder.  Doctor thinks there must be a mass or something and orders an upper GI series and another ultrasound.  This all takes about 6 weeks to get referred and tests scheduled.

And you wait and you wait.

And then I fell and broke my foot.

Finally, the Doctor calls and says the last ultrasound shows that my gall bladder was surgically removed and there is nothing there.

?????????

Apparently, the first test was misread.  While I am grateful there was nothing wrong, I really didn't need all of those tests and worry.

But, God is good as always and I have to be grateful all is well.

So, am hoping to start showing you various rooms all redone soon.

Have a great week!

Judy

    1. Yes Terra - It was a little frustrating waiting for all of the results and then to find out it was just a misreading by the radiologist. I'm sure they read hundreds a day and are just human but I am a little sorry I had to do all of that testing for nothing. But, thank goodness, I'm healthy,

      Have a good week.

    Great to see you back.

    1. Pancreatitis is really a big part of my life. For over twenty years I have battled it but have been very fortunate with a wonderful doctor taking care of me. For over three years, I had a C Scan once a month because I had a huge cyst on my pancreatitis and at one point was in the hospital for 42 days. But, thank the Lord, now it is only once about every two years or so. I spend a week or so in the hospital on nothing but IVs and it heals itself. So, I can't complain. God is good!

      Have a great week.

  4. Judy, it's good to hear from you. Your breakfast menu sounds wonderful. Sorry to hear about your health problems. I read recently that carbonated drinks really cause inflammation in the pancreas. I'm glad your tests were good and that there was no mass. I'm praying for complete recovery. Sorry about that broken foot! Now that I'm in my 60's, I wear really supportive, comfortable shoes, like athletic shoes that lace up. Sometimes, I put a cushy pad in them for extra comfort. My sister fell wearing flip flops and broke her foot. No flip flops or sandals for me! Hug your sweet dog for us.

    1. I only wear really good shoes and never wear flip flops. I stepped on a black plastic trash bag and my feet just flew out from under me. I am so cautious about where I step and it was just a freaky accident. I am completely healed and going strong! Bella says thanks for the hug.

      Have a good week.

  5. The food at this venue was excellent, as was the service, many of our friends and family still rave about it. My wife and I highly recommend these venues in Atlanta. We came here again for dinner and everything was again good and the service was extremely fast.

  7. I have to admit I'm a little confused, which isn't hard these days. If you don't have a gallbladder, yet there is a mass where your gallbladder is supposed to be, what reason to they have for the mass that somebody saw and misread?

    1. Apparently they read someone else's scan. Kinda makes you wonder, doesn't it? But, all is good.

    1. We had a great time at the brunch. It was fun getting to share my new home with these friends of almost 50 years. They have always been so supportive of each other. I tell Tiffany all the time that it doesn't seem like kids today have real friends - or rather lifelong friends like that. Sad but true.

Have a wonderful week and give Cooper a hug for me.

  18. Judy, I some times think the medical field is trying to make us all crazy...I hate when they make us go thru tests...because one of them made a mistake. I feel they should pay for the extra tests then, not us. Hope your toe is better. I bet your friends enjoyed visiting your new home. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  19. Oh Judy, I am so sorry that you broke your foot and that you had to have tests. At least it was good news. Unfortunately, they d make mistakes.

Sounds like you had a great time with your group of ladies. You are so right, kids do't have friends for very long periods of time.

Bella, looks so cute with two biscuits in her mouth LOL.

Looking forward to seeing all your rooms complete.

Have a great week and very pretty flowers.

    1. Thanks Mary. The foot is all healed and I am even out of the brace. Dr. said I had great bone density. One good piece of medical news - LOL.

We did have a great time. This is couples that we have had a Christmas party together every year - same seven couples all with original spouses - for this will be the 48th year. We decided to start seeing each other more than once a year and starting doing breakfast once a month. I decided it would be fun for them to come here and see my new home. We had so much fun.

      Have a great week.

  20. I am glad that everything turned out all right with your misread tests. I'm sorry for the worry you must have gone through. Medical mistakes and misdiagnoses are not taken nearly as seriously as they should be, imho. Medical misdiagnoses are a sore point with me.

Last year my husband came close to dying from being misdiagnosed as having a "stomach bug" when all signs pointed to something more serious, two days later he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance in near septic shock with an extremely high white blood cell count. He actually had a very large cyst on his liver, caused by bacteria called peptostreptococcus. He was in the ICU four days, on five different antibiotics until cultures came back, with a drain tube inserted directly into his liver. He went from the ICU to the regular part of the hospital for eleven more days, and then on an inter-veinous tube-delivered antibiotic at home for three more weeks. He had gone to bed thinking he just had a stomach bug. In the morning he was so sick with fever that he was delirious, couldn't sit up in bed, or understand anything said to him. If he lived alone, he would not have had the presence of mind nor physical ability to call 911 and would have died. Luckily, he was successfully treated and fully recovered from the ordeal.

On a much brighter note, your flowers are very pretty in your new yard. Every season has new yard and garden surprises for you. It is good to know that you are feeling much better. Bella and her two biscuits was such a cute picture. It looks like she is thinking "These are all mine!"

    1. Oh Susie - that is so scary!! I once spent 42 days in the hospital with pancreatitis so I am very watchful and know all of the signs. I would rather go to the doctor and have tests done than take a chance on it getting full blown. Has your husband done ok since then?

The flowers are gorgeous and just keep amazing me. Bella thinks everything is "all hers". LOL

      Thanks for visiting.

  21. Yes indeed, you have been busy! I can't believe all that food you made. Bet you had a good time though. So sorry to hear you have pancreatitis (Dr Weil has some good info online on this, with some suggestions for natural help, if you're interested) and then had that other medical scare, too. And then you broke your foot?! My goodness, Judy...enough! Take good care of yourself. {{hugs}}

    1. Thanks Melanie. I do a lot of natural things for the pancreatitis. I've had it over 20 years so am very alert to the signs of it flaring up. I am lucky in that I have a fantastic doctor and when it does flare up, it is usually a week in the hospital with nothing but IVs. I've been very lucky with no hospital stays for the last four years.

Have a great week and thanks for dropping by.
