First, thank each and every one of you for the sweet comments on my post yesterday. It meant so much to me.
Now -
Am going to try to feature a room each week that I have redone in my new home. I am so enjoying this house and am making it a home by putting my touches on it.
This is the original master bedroom when I bought the house. It was aqua (much more vivid than this photo) and the floor was aqua ceramic tile.
This opening goes into the dressing room and my bathroom. I immediately had the room carpeted. The rest of the house is all wood floors or tile.
This is one side of the bedroom. I hadn't gotten the mirror hung yet that is leaned up against the antique dresser. The loveseat I got from Craigs List for $75. The pictures over the loveseat are William Kimball four seasons - I love them. Got those in Neosha several years ago at their annual citywide garage sale. The old dresser was my folks'.
You probably remember the huge piece that I got when I first moved in the house. I have my TV in it. On the side wall is my wall full of mostly angels.
I made my bedspread and pillows several years ago. The headboard is an iron one. Bella really loves this bed as you can tell.
(Notice, I did get the mirror hung finally!)
Remember this gorgeous long wooden piece I found at an estate sale? It was the sideboard of an antique bed. Look where I put it.
I didn't really want curtains at this window. I don't know who ever thought to invent this size of window but they are so hard to work with. I am very satisfied with this look.
I made this arrangement to go over my jewelry cabinet.
So, here's one room down and a few more to go. I still have just little things to do in each room to finish up completely.
I will get there someday.
Enjoy!
Judy
You have made so much progress in such a short time....everything looks wonderful! Have a blessed weekend....hugs...
ReplyDeleteThanks Penny. There's still more to do but I suppose that will always be the case.
DeleteHave a great weekend.

You have been working so hard and it is great to see room # 1 on your finished reveals. Love that piece of vintage curved wood over the window. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteJoy
Thanks Joy! I'm getting things done one room at a time it seems. Have a great weekend.

Really nice how the pretty carved piece of wood fits so perfectly over that window. Amazing how much your are getting done.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susie. I fell in love with that wooded piece the minute I saw it. However, I patiently waited until the estate sale was l/2 price and then rushed back to get it. Thank goodness it was still there.
DeleteHave a great weekend.

Love the creative way you used the carved wood piece over the window. I have that same style window in my bedroom as well. Am going to look for something like this to dress it up. Thanks for the inspiration! Your room looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I really got excited when I found the carved wood piece and knew exactly what I was going to do with it.
DeleteThanks for dropping by.
Judy
Judy, what a beautiful room and using that wooden piece over the window was just genius!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Arlene - I fell in love with that wooden piece the minute I saw it. Have a great weekend.

Beautiful room redo. I love the window with the salvege piece over it. Such a comfortable room.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am very pleased with how the room turned out.

I love that you are making this new home yours!! With such sweet touches everywhere you look.

What a nice sized bedroom you have! I don't blame you for having the room carpeted - that tile sure wasn't appealing! I really like how you hung that piece over the window. I know you said you didn't want curtains but I was thinking if you want to make that window look longer, you could always hang curtains up above the window going down to the floor. That look would give you length, at least. (Not saying it doesn't look good the way it is now!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Melanie. I had bought long panels to go on either side of the window. But, after putting them up, it just didn't work for me.
DeleteThanks for visiting and have a great weekend.

Judy,
ReplyDeleteAre we ever, truly, finished decorating a room, dear friend!
Your Master Bedroom is shaping up quite nicely!
Love your bedspread!
The antique piece above your window looks amazing!
Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
Fondly,
Pat
Thanks Pat. No, I don't think we ever completely finish a room. LOL I am always thinking up something else to do.
DeleteThanks for dropping by.

It's such a nice big room that you can really do a lot with. I have a window like that over my dresser. I couldn't figure out what to do and finally just put a regular length curtain over it and keep it closed. lol I sure don't need it with big windows on another wall. Enjoy the holiday weekend! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane. Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting.

Oh I like that red check love seat and especially that wonderful piece of wood over your window.
ReplyDeleteI use to have some of those Warren Kimball pictures they are still charming I think.
Cute picture of your dog all cozy on your bed, I miss my dog
I originally had two small club chairs to go in there but when I saw this loveseat on Craigslist, I decided it would be a whole lot better and I too, loved the checks. I've always loved Warren Kimball pieces.
DeleteHave a great weekend.
Judy
You are super women with all the progress you have made in a short time. It feels like a cozy home now. Enjoy Judy.
ReplyDeleteTake a nap on that pretty bed with Bella.
Hugs,
Kris
Thanks Kris! As you well know, it just takes time to get it like you want it. I'm still changing stuff around. Have a great weekend.

ReplyDeleteYou've worked your tail off on this house. Can't wait to see more.
Thanks Stacey! It has been a lot of work but am beginning to see an end in sight. Thanks for visiting.

I love those William Kimball four seasons prints. What a great find! You are doing so well with this house. I am happy to see that it is becoming "home" to you now. I believe this house was always meant to be yours <3
ReplyDeleteBig Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
Thanks sweet friend. It definitely is becoming home to me.
DeleteJudy
your house is coming along so nicely...and so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI admire how hard you are working to make this pretty house your home...take your sweet time and don't overwork yourself...it will be great this winter to stay inside and do all the decorating you want.....xoxo
Thanks BJ - I'm hoping to have most of the work done by winter and then I can work on unpacking boxes still in the garage. They seem to multiply.
DeleteThanks for dropping by.
Judy
Wow! That was a lot of aqua. I like what you have done, and the armoire is a wonderful piece. xoxo Su
ReplyDeleteThanks Su! Everything in this house was either aqua or pink. The den walls were painted pink. But, I really think that is one reason I got such a good deal on this home because a lot of people couldn't see past the pink and aqua.
DeleteThanks for visiting.

I just love that dresser and mirror. I'm working on getting my home in order. It's a job and will continue for awhile, I'm sure. About to read what has been so upsetting to you. I'm sorry. I'm so behind, but I really do hope that you are finding peace in the midst of it all.
ReplyDeleteYou've really personalized this space, Judy, in a very pretty way. I enjoy seeing the before and afters of your new home.
ReplyDeletePoppy
Judy lovely and the piece you found at an estate sale is beautiful. Bella is a cutie.
