I did this decoration beside my front door today. I bought the big J and Y at Michaels. The real wreath was from Home Depot. I painted the letters in a glossy red spray paint and hung them above and below the wreath. It shows very nicely from the front of the house.
As always, my side kick Bella was standing at the front door not completely understanding how I was possibly doing something without her assistance. LOL
Do you remember this piece from my Saturday Treasures? The piece that the creamer is sitting in? It's an ash tray - see the little indentations on the sides for the cigarettes? I guess back in those days, it was common to sit and smoke after a meal??????
On a sad note.....
Charles Faudree, who lived here in Tulsa, was one of the most famous Interior Designers here in the states and even overseas, passed away last week on Wednesday. He had a shop here in Tulsa which I was privileged to visit several times and had even met him there. A very cordial gentleman. He was honored by House Beautiful as one of the top designers in the United States and was the best-selling author of six books on interior design. His fabric and wallpaper lines were unbelievable and featured in magazines like Veranda, House Beautiful, Southern Accents and Traditional Homes. He definitely leaves an indelible legacy in this community and the world.
He had a quick wit of humor and was quite a prankster. He had a laugh like no other. He was generous and lived life to the fullest. He had a love of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. You would always see them in his photos of his home.
He will be missed.
Till next time, Judy
Oh,no! I can't believe Charles Faudree died! How sad! He is one of my all time favorite designers. He will definitely be missed.
