A Fruitful Day

As I am unpacking my bins, I've found so many things I forgot I had!  (Imagine that?)  One of the things I love to collect are little white/cream pitchers.  Some of them are old - some new.  I put them on my little vintage looking cup/glass rack on a wooden and metal tray in the kitchen.

My collection of white pitchers is going to look great in the blue cabinet in the living room.

The cute little vintage black secretary goes beautifully in the third bedroom...

we got the antique twin bed set up in this bedroom...

and even got some pictures hung.  The little red cabinet will be painted a darker red.  It's a little too bright red for what I'm doing in that room.

Got my seat cushions put on my dining room chairs.  They look great.  I had them made by a friend and she did an awesome job.

A friend is moving and had these two small chairs she wasn't going to use and she gave them to me.  Thanks Shirley!

Guess what I'm going to do to them?  I'm going to attempt to paint the upholstery.  It won't cost a lot and if it doesn't work, I'll upholster them later.

Next big project - they are getting ready to start redoing the hall bath.  The tile in there is a salmon pink and everything is outdated.  The fixtures have all been replaced recently but they are shiny chrome.  So, I'll replace them.

The storage in this bathroom is incredible.  Lots and lots of it.  The hang down over the shower will be taken out when they redo the shower.  And the storage even has a hamper.  Isn't that neat?

Today has been a busy day.

Enjoy!

Judy

  7. The tile in my parent's house is salmon pink, too. I remember seeing painted upholstery on a home show. I have two chairs in storage that I'd like to do. I'll wait and see how yours turn out.

  12. Hi Judy, you are making your house a beautiful home with your talents and decorating. Everything is so inspiring. Have fun painting the chairs. It will work out great. I've done this too. Remember to add textile medium to your paint so it will stay soft and not crack. I'm sure you already know this. Love your redesigns!!!!xo

  13. I have painted upholstered chairs before and they came out fine and I'm still using one in the studio at my work table. I think I added 3 layers of latex paint to my chair.

Isn't it fun to unpack a box and find old treasures?
