Latest Update!

Just so you think I haven't been slacking off, I thought I better show you what I've been doing in the last week.

This is one side of the living room.  My couch I have had for several years along with the coffee table and end table. As you can tell, I haven't gotten to the fun part of hanging pictures and wall décor yet.  Soon I hope.

Miss Begonia has a place of honor in the corner of the living room next to the blue cabinet.  The blue cabinet will be filled mostly with vintage white/cream pitchers and dishes.  They should show up really good in that blue cabinet.

Do you think I have an obsession for old silver?

Some red accents in the breakfast room in the baker's rack.

I am using these two oak chairs in the breakfast room with an small oak round table.  The oak table is still in storage and I haven't dug it out yet!  LOL In case you are wondering about the fuzzy thing on the side, stay tuned - I'll tell you the story behind it in the next few days.

This is the curtains that will hang on each side of the sliding glass doors in the breakfast room.

.

This sweet little piece I found on one of my antiquing trips.  All of the black floral chinz pieces were my Mom's.

In the den where I am using red, blue and yellow, I put this blue collection on the mantle.  Again, my Mom had a collection of these blue pieces.  I know they are very old, but do not know what they are called.  They are different shades of blue and almost like a pottery. They have no markings on them.  I have quite a bit more that I haven't unpacked yet.

The bottom piece was an old radio cabinet that I refinished.  I put the lace on the shelf.  Don't know what I'm putting on the shelves - maybe quilts.  The cute Textile box was a gift from a friend.

This is the twin bed that goes in bedroom #2.  I found this on the curb one day and loaded it up.  This bedroom will be all black and white with red accents.

My neighbor across the street had this Eastlake cabinet that was her great-grandmother's.  She brought it home and it was in such bad shape.  I helped her strip and redo it.  She passed away from cancer several years ago and her husband insisted that I keep the cabinet.  So, it is a very special piece to me.  I am using it as an end table in my bedroom.

This gorgeous piece was my Mom's.  It goes in my bedroom and again is a very special piece to me.

This is my 600th post.  I am so amazed at all of the great friends I have made thru blogging and thank you all so much for being such great support in everything I have been thru since I started.

I appreciate every comment and am truly blessed with so many friends.

Thanks and enjoy!!

    1. Thanks Carol! I too, love that piece of Mom's. After she passed away, my three sisters and I started sorting out stuff and so many of the pieces that she had, she had put a note on the bottom telling where it came from, where it was bought and how much. There wasn't a note on this one tho.

  27. Judy, there's just something about your home décor that makes me smile. And I see you have some turquoise items too. Love that color! The blue cabinet is really nice - did you get that at Target? The dresser and mirror that belonged to your mom is gorgeous. You know, I love old silver too. When my mom passed away, my sister got her silver tea set. And of course, I love all the red in your home.

It's coming along nicely, and look forward to seeing more. :)

    love, ~Sheri
