Where has the summer gone?

I can't hardly believe it is already August.  I don't know where the summer went.  The girls start back to school in about two weeks and I will really miss them.  Laynee will be in the third grade and the twins will be in Kindergarten  How time flies.  But, they are so excited to go back to school.  They love it.  It is just so sad that we have to worry about especially little ones during this traumatic time of our lives.

The girls' school underwent a complete renovation this summer.  One of the things they told us about was that each room was getting a new "closet".  In my mind I can only think that maybe it is a safe room.

My flowers are all late bloomers this year.  I assume it is due to the intense rains and flooding we had all spring.  And now it is heat factors up to 110 degrees.  So I imagine they will fade pretty fast.

If you remember my pink master bathroom, I am getting ready to start redoing it - slowly but surely.  I have found some absolutely gorgeous wallpaper for one wall.  If you remember, I did the small window in lace and doilies and am loving it.

It will be in all shades of cream, tan and off white.  I am working on it a little at a time.

Passed my four month mark on my shoulder surgery.  It is doing great.  See the surgeon on Thursday for check up.

Stay cool and enjoy the summer.

Judy

  8. Hi Judy,
I am so happy to hear your surgery is healing nicely. I feel like I have missed a lot of summer with the move so I am taking these last few weeks of summer and trying to enjoy them. The girls are getting so big. Can't believe the twins are ready for school! Gosh it is so sad to think they have to have safe rooms in school now. I worry about what kind of world our grands will be living in as adults. Something has to change with guns and violence and mental health. I just did our bathroom in the new house and love it. Good luck with yours. Good to see you posting. Miss your posts.
    xoxo

  10. I love how you have the doilies on the window. Can't wait to see how you re-do the rest of this bathroom.

It is so sad to know that kids now have to practice active shooter drills and hide in "safe rooms". This should not have to be a reality in our schools.

  11. I totally agree Melanie. Interesting that they called them big closets. I am just assuming they are safe rooms
    Thanks for visiting.

  13. I had been wondering where you were off to! Didn't know (or forgot) that you had the shoulder surgery. So glad it's recovering nicely.. and that you'll be able to do that wallpapering in the bathroom! I would LOVE a pink bathroom! Out HEAT is gone for the moment... only in the 80's this week which is wonderful. Glad to see you back blogging again and I agree, the summer has zoomed by. I'm looking forward to a cooler September (hopefully) and October. Marilyn
