Saturday Treasures

My Saturday morning ritual is to get up, have a Diet Coke, eat breakfast and to to the Tulsa Flea Market at the Fair Grounds.  I do this every Saturday morning,  Sometimes I hit Garage Sales and/or Estate Sales on my way, but I always do the Flea Market.
So, on Saturdays, my blog will be posted a little later because of my "schedule".

This morning I found some really interesting items.
My first find was an old black Ledger.  It was in pretty good shape and was only $2.00.

Look at the beautiful handwriting in it and the prices.  It was from 1944 and on one page, it shows the income from wages, eggs sold, hogs sold, cream sold, chickens sold and rent income.

The expenses shown are on another page.  They bought feed, chickens, and cows along with the residential expenses.  I think they must have been fairly "well to do" because of the telephone and rental expenses.

My second item - I don't know what it is!!  I just thought it was kind of interesting.  It looks like something you could hang prisms or something from.  I'll have to figure out what to do with it.

Got a precious set of nesting dolls.

The mustache book is not real old, but I thought with all of the interest today in mustaches, it would be a fun book to have.

I got a bag of all cream and white buttons and a bag full of all kinds of belt buckles.  They were $5.00 each.

Do you have any idea what old thimbles are selling for these days?  I got this whole fruit jar full for $4.00.  I was excited.  Do I know what I am going to do with them?  No, do you have to have a plan?

Last, but not least, I got a crocheted doily and a piece of vintage lace.  I always have to find something in this category for my "stash".

So, I would say, all in all, I had a very good morning.

Till next time, Judy

  3. I sure do wish I had a flea market close to me, Judy. I haven't been to a yard sale in a long time.. I need to get myself up and out early enough to get to some.. I've found some really neat items in the past..

You really went home with lots of good "stuff".. Can't wait to see what you do with the thimbles.. I think the silver ones go for lots of money.

I'm glad you had a good time.. I'll know where you are next Saturday morning.. Good luck !

    Hugs, Charlotte

  7. Great finds and my favourite is the jar of thimbles. I would pick up one of those wood niche boxes, the ones with all the little sections, and display them as a group on the wall.

  8. Oh how exciting that you have such a wonderful flea market to look forward to on Saturday. The thimbles are great, and so are the buttons. Love white buttons! Now I see why you and Brenda get along so well! That tall thing that you can't figure out what it is, kinda looks like you could use it as an earring holder, maybe necklaces. I'd be hanging earrings all over it. Great finds!

  11. Popped in and looked at Flea Market Finds, what did you do with the wiry thing with the hooks? Could you flip it upside down and hang necklaces off the hooks? Or small vintage ornaments on ribbons? Fun Find!
