In my entry, as you go into the living room, I wrote a scripture that was appropriate for that area.
It says:
"We will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country,
blessed when you come in and blessed when you leave."
Deuteronomy 28: 3,6
In my living room, I decided that I wanted to do something a little different. Molding is fairly inexpensive and can make a major change to a room.
I painted my living room a pretty tan color, Desert Dawn, which is no longer available. I then put crown molding all around the room that was painted gloss white.
I measured 18" in on the ceiling and painted that area the same color as the walls. Due to the light hitting it at different angles, that area looks like a different color, but it's not. Then, I had a flat backed molding installed at the 18" line and it was painted the same glossy white paint. The inner, center part of the ceiling was painted two shades darker of the Desert Dawn.
So, you get the effect of three hues of the same color when actually there are only two.
It will give your room a very distinctive look at a fairly low cost.
Enjoy!
Till next time, Judy
Love it! It just makes the room pop now. I must say that I smile and think of you everyday. I am still so in love with pillow. It has front and center on the top of my bed. Maddy is still loving on hers too. Thank you again for such a sweet gift.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's gorgeous! Is that a stencil or did you freehand that? It's wonderful!

Hi Judy,
ReplyDeleteI love the scripture you chose to paint. When our home was being built my husband and I wrote several scriptures in different places in our home. They are hidden within the foundational walls throughout our home. We wanted our home to be dedicated to God from the very beginning.
I'm happy you liked your little thank yous. I wanted to give you something for your new kitchen...and, cherries...Oh, they will be so pretty for your theme.
Have a happy week, my friend.
Blessings,
Carolynn xxx
