Christmas in July

Christmas in July??

July is one of my biggest months on my Etsy shop.  Because I am going to be gone part of that time on my cruise to Alaska, I am working to get a new Christmas item for each day in July.  Crazy, eh?

But, due to the weather, I'm really in the mood!

Wednesday, we had 80+ degree weather - really warm.  And today??  A drop of 40 degrees, cold rain, north wind and the threat of snow and sleet in the morning.  YUCK!!

I really could have gotten in the mood for Christmas sewing without all of that.  So, I guess I'll stay inside and sew all day tomorrow and pray for better weather.

Of course, I had bought a bunch of plants on Tuesday and didn't get them planted on Wednesday in the warm weather.

So, I boxed them all up and brought them into the kitchen.  Looks like a greenhouse!!

I also didn't get to start on my kitchen cabinets this week because of the awful weather.

Well, next week will be better - I hope.

Enjoy!

Till next time, Judy

  1. Hi Judy, I have watched it snow off and on all day. Sometimes it was mixed with rain and tonight we are suppose to be in a winter storm watch. I like your Christmas wreath. I don't blame you for wanting to get things done. Our weather has been so weird. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.

  4. I love the bow on your wreath--I can never get mine to look like that! It must be fun anticipating visiting Alaska. Will there be the wonderful Copper River salmon served? And for Pete's sake, can't the weather behave better? 80 degree days and then snow?

  8. It is the craziest weather season ever! I can't believe it is snowing in some places! Here in the South it is cooler than usual but that's just fine with me! Hope you get to those projects soon. The weather HAS to get better at some point!

  9. Are you having this crazy rainy weather, too? It's been raining solidly since yesterday! It kept me awake all night. I was telling another friend that it looks like the Emerald Isle outside. No watering necessary for a long time!

Can't wait to see what you put in your shop, Judy.

  10. Oklahoma weather! We've had record lows and record highs in the last few years. It's just crazy. Watch it get to 100 degrees before long. Love the wreath!

  11. I am so envious of your organization! We still have boxes that need to go to the attic from LAST Christmas :) Your plants look so pretty, can't wait to see them in your garden. Loved the Dino too!

  12. Our weather is so bad right now. I have lived here since 1978 and I don't ever recall such an awful Spring. It snowed here on April 30 and the weather service is calling for torrential rain all weekend with flooding. Next will be landslides, I think.

I hope the weather improves before you come up! At any rate, bring a raincoat and rain boots!

  14. Ugh, sorry Judy, but I don't even want to begin to think about Christmas.

Yucky weather here in IL, too. Cold and rainy.

  17. I broke down and brought some of my more fragile annuals inside - sure hope the ferns and begonias will be ok as they are water soaked and I don't have room inside for them all.
    Crazy weather !
    Enjoy your weekend.

  19. Hi Judy,

I can't imagine Christmas in July, BUT since you're sewing with RED, it's all good, right? And, too bad about the weather, BUT, yay(!) you get to host your pretties INSIDE, where they can make you smile WARMLY!

  20. It's been a tad chilly here, too. We didn't get the snow, the other side of the state had quite a bit. I remember heavy snow at the end of April 30 years ago, but have not seen snow in May.

Your wreath is beautiful! I love the addition of the plate.

  21. Very cute wreath! It's cold and rainy here today so I'm inside doing inside projects but I'd rather be outside!
