My Visit to the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum!!

Continuing on with my Spring theme of bright colors and florals, I could not leave this section out.
Last summer, my sister and I went on a cruise to Alaska.  We were fortunate enough to be able to spend a few days in Seattle, WA before we boarded the ship.
We walked a few blocks to the Market Center and OMG - the flowers were unbelievable!!
They even had flowers growing on top of the buildings.
Just beautiful!!
Then we went to the Space Needle and right next to it was the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum! Dale Chihuly was first drawn to glass when he walked the beach in Puget Sound and collected beach glass.  He was introduced to glass when studying Interior Design at the University of Washington.  He is considered one of America's most renown glass sculptors. This is all hand blown glass, so just sit back and enjoy the beauty!!
Remember, some of these pieces are 30' high!
The gardens are just magnificent!!
It literally takes your breath away!
My favorite piece of the whole exhibit was this....
the Chandelier Walkway!!
So, if you ever have the chance - don't pass it up to go see this awesome museum.  It was on the top of my list to go see and I'm so glad I did.

  1. I really enjoyed this post. I've been a big Dale Chihuly fan for years and years. Beautiful photos!

  2. Great photos. I am a big fan of Chihuly too! His pieces are amazing!

  3. Beautiful! I bet with the lighting it is really gorgeous! Fun to find a place by chance!

  4. Don't you love the colors? Have you seen the one in Oklahoma City? Hope you and your sweetie are doing well!

  5. I love Chihuly's works. I am amazed things done get broken. I would love to watch one being made. Thanks for showing us all the pretty things. oxoxo,Susie

  6. His works are so stunning! I have been lucky to see several. There are some in the Botanical Gardens in Atlanta and the gorgeous ceiling at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. If I ever get to Seattle I would love to visit this museum!

    hugs, Linda

I missed this spot the last time we were in Seattle. My daughter will be there over night on a business trip soon and is staying right near Pike Place Market. I will show her your lovely photos about the gardens.

  8. I have a dear blog friend in Seattle and I am going to see her sometime in the future! I will make sure to visit this gorgeous museum! We have seen some beautiful glass displays in Indiana:) LOVE to look at all of these gorgeous creations! Have a blessed Friday dear friend, HUGS!

  9. What a great time you had in Seattle. They say that if something stands still in western WA that something will grow on it - and that's about how it is too - a lot of fence posts have grasses, or even trees growing out of them - and if people don't clean their gutters then small trees sprout, and in the summer there are flowers everywhere.

  10. Very cool post -- I've always wanted to visit Seattle! Those flowers were just gorgeous. xoxo

  11. Hi Judy, I did not know about the glass museum . . . we will be putting it on a list for our next visit. Of course Pikes Market is my all time favorite place to go when in Seattle. There and the pier. You took some amazing photos. Thanks for sharing.
    Have a great weekend.
    Your blogging sister, Connie :)

  12. Beautiful! I lived in Seattle for many years before moving to NYC. It's a beautiful town - actually all of western Washington is gorgeous!

  13. Wow, such an interesting post, and so colourful! Thank you for taking us to a fascinating place, Judy!

  14. What a neat museum! I don't recall it being there when we visited, but that was almost 20 years ago now! I remember the public market and it was spectacular. I'd love to go back sometime!

  15. Hi Judy,
I remember how much fun you had on your trip. Wow I love the chandeliers too. How gorgeous. Have a great start to the new week.
