The Old Grey Mare Ain't What She Used To Be!!

Well, the move is complete.  Now, you still can't get around too fast because of all of the boxes and stuff, but all of Brenda's treasures are in her new home.  I am betting that the new home will be a showplace rather quickly.  That's just Brenda for you!  But, I must say, it was more tiring than I thought it would be.  Brenda and I are both worn out.
Her plants all survived the move wonderfully - even tho, we had to cover all of the outside plants with a tarp as we had freezing temps last night.  Today was beautiful tho and the movers were a delight and so careful with everything.  Now, it's just getting everything where she wants it.  But, like I said, knowing her, it'll be done quickly.
Did any of you see the Red Moon last night?  I was still up sewing around 2:00 a.m. and took my camera out to take a picture.....
as you can see, I'm certainly not good with that wide angle lens.  The thing is too heavy and I couldn't hold it steady.  But, trust me, the moon was blood red.  (I will practice using that lens some more - I promise).
Brenda has the internet people coming on Wednesday to hook her all up and she'll be back in business!

  1. I know it was a hard job and I'm glad everything is over there now. What good friends you both are...I'm glad you're mine, too! Sending you lots of hugs! Get some rest and have a good week! Hugs, Diane

  2. Thanks for the update Judy. Hope you all get some rest. Hugs.

  3. So glad that you guys got everything moved into her new home.
Yes, I saw the blood moon last night and it was stunning.
Rest up as you have Easter arriving quickly - have a wonderful Easter with your beautiful grandbabbies.

  4. Moving is such a hard job! Your friends are blessed to have you. I saw the moon too. Happy Easter.

  5. Hope you can get some rest now. I am sure Brenda will work her wonders on that place in short order. I can't wait to see it!

We had heavy clouds here last night so missed the show- darn it- xo Diana

  6. I am so glad that part is done!! Now Brenda can get to work making this new place a home! She will have us all drooling over her decor in no time! I bet you are tired! I know when I moved last summer I could not believe how hard it was. I still have a move with Mom in about 45 days but it will be done and then we can all enjoy the rest of the summer! Hugs to you!

  7. How lucky to be in the right part of the world to see the blood moon - it seems very special. and now you have arrived! your new home looks nice, I think you must take it slowly, one room at a time - don't work too hard. Blessings in your new home. Betty

  8. OH Judy, thank you so much for helping Brenda with this move. Great to hear she had a nice moving crew. Wow, a hint of things to come with all those plants in her kitchen.

  9. I'm so glad everything went okay, Judy, I haven't seen a new post from Brenda. You really are a doll to have helped her but I wouldn't expect anything less from you. You are a great friend to have, And I know you must be exhausted.

I think that's a darn good picture of the red moon. I didn't see it. Can't sleep at all tonight so it would have been great a day later! Ha!

  10. You are a wonderful friend, Judy! Glad it went well. Deep freeze here last night too...I have three blankets covering my lilac bush, hoping it will still bloom this spring.

That moon...ah! :) In my area south of Pittsburgh PA we had cloud cover that night and couldn't see it very well.

  11. I know how you feel! I don't have the energy I used to have:( BUT... I am happy you all get the move behind you! Enjoy your day dear friend, rest a little:) HUGS!

  15. OMgosh the thought of moving all my treasures makes me tired thinking about it.
I am sure she will have it all in place in less than a week
And I missed the red moon, didn't even know about it till next morning and listen to the NBC news, thanks for the picture of it

  16. You are such a good friend! Wow! Please rest and don't over-do! XO

  17. You are the most wonderful friend, ever, Judy! I hope you take one day of rest before you have to gear up for the yard sale on Friday. Hugs to you, Judy.

  18. She is very fortunate to have a friend like you. Fix your drink of choice, put your feet up and rest now. :)

  19. I am glad to know you two made it in one piece. Have a lovely Easter. I am looking forward to Brenda being back up online.

  20. Glad to hear it's done! I hope that you will now rest and take it easy. I know Brenda has a ton of unpacking and decorating, etc. to do, but I hope she does it nice and slow, too. Big hugs to both of you.

  21. Thanks for the update on Brenda's move. She must know that all her readers are cheering her on and are looking forward to the first post from her new home. Hope you both can take some time to rest up and recharge. We did not get to see the blood moon here in Northern Virginia--it was raining, sleeting, and snowing last night! I'm sure Brenda counts you as a chief blessing in her life--you are a true friend.

  22. So glad the move went well.
My husband helped move a friend last week, and they both were worn out.
We have all moved many times but now we are all getting older its now too hard.

  23. An admirer from NYC whose family lives in Tulsa, Sapulpa and Norman. :)
You are a sweetheart of a friend. I see those bright white kitchen cabinets and wonder what a canvas they could be for her decoupage like in last cafe/kitchen! Ha!
blessings to you and your family and to Brenda too! :)

  24. What a sweet friend you are! I'm sure she appreciates all your hard work.
I missed the blood red moon...I bet it was pretty cool.
    Happy Easter.

  25. You keep us amazed Judy! What a truly wonderful friendship you have with Brenda. If we lived anywhere near you (we reside in California) would have been there to HELP too. Thank you for being there for so many of us that follow your respective blogs. Rest please and give each other a hug from all of us. Wishing each of you a blessed Easter. Marcy

  26. The old grey mare is doing pretty good as far as I can see. Moving is hard for anyone, you are a wonderful friend to be giving Brenda so much help. I hope the estate sale goes well. Did you put it on Craig's List? You can get a ton of people that way. Hope you and John get some rest.

  27. P.S I lived in Oklahoma for a year many many years ago when my hubby was at Tinker Air Force Base. So I know what you mean about the weather. Our main home was in NY but we now reside in Florida. We moved about a year ago, and I remember how exhausted I was!
