I decorated a few weeks ago but hadn't taken photos yet. I made this wreath out of vintage children patriotic cards I bought from Etsy.
Some of them are just glued on flat and others I cut out the figurines and used foam core cut into small pieces to make them stand out.
The window beside my front door has the wreath and my burlap patriotic garland on it. It is so hard to get a good photo of this window because of reflections! So, use your imagination!
I used red and blue patriotic pillows on my little bench. Then, I added an old basket full of geraniums and American flags.
Remember the flag shutter I made a few weeks ago? Well, it is on the front porch also. I really wanted it down above the bench, but hubby didn't want me hammering nails into the brick. So, it sits up on the ledge above the bench.
I am fortunate that all of my porch is covered so I can leave a lot of things out there without worrying about the weather.
These will be here for June and July!
Enjoy!
Judy

Hi Judy,
ReplyDeleteLove all your patriotic decor, specially the flag shutter. Did you know you can buy something called a brick clip that you can hang stuff from? I have one holding a little french sign on my brick fireplace. They work very well and there is no hammering involve. They just clip onto the brick. Anyway, just thought you'd like to know :-) Thank you for stopping by for a visit and becoming a follower. Now I am your newest follower. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
Hugs and Kisses,

Lovely decorations for the summer Judy.

Hi Judy,
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! I would never thought to use vintage postcard images to make a wreath!! It is amazing!! I love the burlap bunting as well. My blog is Life on the Wienee Ranch because we share our lives with 3 dachshunds! We had 5 when I started my blog and we have since lost our two oldest girls. Baby passed away in Dec of 2010 at the age of 16 and her daughter, Pebbles passed away in Feb. of 2013 at the age of 14. I love Americana and red, white, and blue. I decorate every room in my home with some form of red, white, and blue from the Monday after Easter until the day after Sept. 11 each year.
I want to say a huge Thank you for being such an awesome friend to Brenda! I hope if I am ever in a situation where my family can't or won't help me that I have a friend like you that will step in. I am so glad I found your blog. I added it to my list of favs so I can visited daily.
Hugs,
Lynn

ReplyDeleteThis is lovely Judy. I always love seeing the red, white and blue!
ReplyDeleteI came by to thank you for visiting and leaving such a special comment Judy, and what do I find?? The cutest wreath ever!! I love the idea of using foam core to give it a dimensional look. It's details like that that make the difference between 'nice' and 'really, REALLY nice'.
ReplyDeleteVery creative, and the cards from etsy are fabulous (but pretty much everything from etsy is!) lol
Oh my, I just know I'm going to love it here. What a great display you did... and the idea of using those cards is brilliant. I used to be a 'crafty' person but don't seem to have the time lately... or perhaps I'm lacking inclination. Thank you so much for the lovely comment on my blog.
ReplyDeleteJudy, this is adorable! What a great idea with the little post cards. Live your porch too. Thanks for popping in to see me and yes, I know the song you are talking about. It is called "Swinging On a Star" and was sung by zing Crosby. Look it up on YouTube maybe. Hope that helps.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
