The Stages of the Hydrangeas

Don't you just love watching the hydrangeas go thru their various stages of blooming?

I certainly do.  Each new bud is in anticipation of a gorgeous full flower.

Thanks for all of the good comments on my post about my Etsy shop.  I appreciate all of the input.

I have decided that I am going to do the grouping of items for the shop.  These will be by colors and/or themes.

Sara @ My Woodland Garden said it would be like opening a treasure box.  So, since I share with you my Saturday Treasures, I'm going to call them Saturday Treasure Boxes.

I have also decided since so many of my loyal readers love the pieces I find, that I'm going to be showing them to you all first and give you first chance.  I plan on setting a designated day of the week to show you my collections before posting them to my shop.

I am going to do this container by container so I will be working on it while the contractor is working on my house which is scheduled to start July 11th.  I don't know how much time I will have for the next month to post but will do my best.  Just know if I'm not posting, I'm working and photographing my treasures to share with you all.

I will be doing before, during and after photos of the construction.  It's going to be hectic around here.  I guess my biggest worry is that John is not here and I am having to make all of the decisions by myself and secondly, how Bella is going to handle all of these people coming in and out of her house.

Hopefully she will adjust - and me too!

  1. I look forward to the opportunity to have first chance! I've often seen things you've found that I'd like to buy. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  2. Hi Judy,
It will be fun to have first looks at all your wonderful treasures. I am excited for you that the construction redo will start. I know it is alot while it is going on but it will be so nice in the end and so worth it. Hope little Bella handles all the excitement. Construction zones are hectic. Happy new week.

  3. You will do beautifully with all your decisions as to the house and your Etsy shop. Sounds like a great plan, my friend. I miss our talks - I'm headed home in a week and it will be much easier to find the time for a chat.

  4. I know you will have fun grouping your finds for us to enjoy and buy! House construction isn't fun but you will be so happy when it's done!! Hugs!!!

  5. Having work done to a house is always hectic and things can get crazy, but it is so worth it in the end. Can't wait to see the grouping of goodies that you share with us.

  6. This is a busy time for you! I wish you all the best and the same for your little ones. All will be okay-I'm sure!

  7. Good luck dear Judy, I'm sure you'll be able to handle it! Love the hydrangeas, I can never grow them!

  8. Love the hydrangeas and progress of them. Mine did not do well at all, in fact everything looks terrible due to the drought. I know that everything will work out fine on your construction and Bella will hopefully get used to all the people coming and going. Can hardly wait to see your grouping of all your treasures.
Have a great week Judy = Waldo and Lili send Wolfs to Bella.

  9. I love hydrangeas...they are one of my favorites! Your groupings will be wonderful, Judy. I hope it goes really well for you with the sales. It will be like opening a treasure trove for people! xo Diana

  10. Hydrangeas are such a beautiful flower and the growing process is fun to watch! I love your idea about groupings and about posting here, I bet you won't have much that makes it to your shop :) Thinking of you as you go through this very busy season of your life! I'm sure Bella will do well! Blessings, Cindy xoxo

  11. Good decision on can try it for awhile and see how it works for you. Good good luck.
I am excited about you getting your house all pretty and new. I feel certain all the decisions you are having to make alone will be what J. would have wanted, too.
    Love to you

  12. Judy, your hydrangeas are gorgeous!

  13. I love hydrangeas too, and all their different stages. Yours look lovely. Your new Etsy idea sounds have such a good eye for finding treasures.....people will love your collections. Good luck with the renovations, it will all be worth it!
    Happy new week.

  14. I love watching my hydrangeas too:) Mine are blue, I really need a pink one:) Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!

  15. How fun Judy I hope you sell all your beautiful things. My hydrangeas didn't make it through the winter this year so I will have to admire yours :)

  16. I love your hydrangea's in the four stage's. Also the simplicity of the wreath is beautiful !! I'm glad your going to do the Etsy shop, I can't wait to shop. As far as reno's , John will be there in spirit guiding you :) Bella will be fine as long as you are...and you will be. You had the faith in yourself and have taken such a huge leap , congratulation's on being such a strong positive woman. Good luck,TT

  17. I love watching hydrangeas through all their stages, too. I think even the buds are pretty! Good luck with the construction...I know it will be hard on you in many ways. Could you and Bella go somewhere else during the day, for part of the day? A relative or friend's house? Dog park? My cats always freak out when other people are in the house, especially when work is being done. But not much you can do with cats! They hide under my bed and I keep the door closed. I wish you well on your new ideas for your Etsy shop. I think it will do well!

  18. It's exciting doing things to your house! I bet it will all go well. Have confidence. :)

Your hydrangeas are beautiful. We had lots of them in Edmond and I miss them here.

  19. I think you made a good decision. It'll be hard work but worth it in the end. Looking forward to seeing the goodies

  20. beautiful blooms Judy! It sounds like your life is getting pretty exciting right now! Thank-you that you will take us along for the journey, I look forward to it!

  21. I do love hydrangeas! Yes, in all stages. It will be great to follow along with you as you go through remodeling.

  22. I love hydrangeas, and so many flowers it so much fun to watch them go through they stages to flowering. It's funny I'm doing that right now on two of my perennials. I can't wait for you to share your remodelling photos. It's always so much fun to go through it with you. Its stressful to make all the decisons all by yourself...but you are strong and will do good. If there's a decision to make your unsure of put it on your blog and we'll help!

  23. I have a teeny tiny yard but I have one little garden area that has five hydrangeas in it. It's my favorite spot, and I love watching all the little buds develop into gorgeous flowers! I also can't wait to see how your remodeling goes - I'm at the tail end of converting a 3-family house to a 2-family. I made all of the decisions, since my husband passed on back in 2000 so I can completely understand how you feel.

I'm really looking forward to seeing your "Saturday Treasures"! I'm hoping I see them in time to splurge on a few!

  24. Hi Judy, love the stages of hydrangeas too. Mine are doing good so far, but no blooms yet. Your Saturday Treasures sounds great and showing them here first is a grand idea. Best wishes with the renos. It will be so nice when complete.

Thank you for the kind comment on my guys retirement. Hugs and Blessings, cm

  25. I hope that the work goes well for you. Yes, I love hydrangeas!! xx

  27. Hi Judy,
Thanks for stopping by and visiting me and leaving such a nice comment. I love hydrangeas but for some reason mine aren't doing well this summer. It's been extremely hot and dry here on the coast.
Love you Etsy shop and what a great idea to give your bloggers first look.

  28. Oh my, nothing like the stages of hydrangeas! I've planted some for the first time this year and they are just gorgeous! I love your idea of posting treasures weekly!

  29. Love your gorgeous Hydrangeas! Best of luck with the construction. I'll be looking forward to see your Sat. treasure boxes!

  30. Judy - I applaud your courage! I'm happy you're getting this home remodel. The packing and unpacking is a chore! I think you'll do fine with the etsy treasure boxes! I think this sounds wonderful!
