Getting Ready for the Holidays

This is what getting ready for Christmas looks like at my home!!  As you can tell, Bella is not at all pleased with all of the boxes and decorations invading her space.  I have always wanted a front window to put a Christmas tree in and now I have one.  I had a console table there before and moved it into the dining room temporarily.

It will work for the time being.

Would you believe I have buds on my Tulip Tree?  I hope it doesn't get confused and not bloom in the Spring.  It was so beautiful last year.

Tiffany brought me a couple of neat signs.  This one is so true of her and the little ones!  LOL

This one is kind of hard to read because it is in shiny lettering but it says:  "I don't need an angel on my tree, I already have one in Heaven looking down on me".  It will always be special to me.

I do have my Dining Room decor up.  I am using silver and white on my tree in the Living Room and carried these colors thru to the Dining Room.

Tomorrow is going to be an eventful day.  I'm having three trees taken out of my back yard.  This one is about 75' tall and is hollow on the inside.  If it falls due to ice and/or wind, it'll take out my new storage building.  They are also trimming up all the rest of my huge trees.  I wanted to get this done before we had any ice or snow and limbs could have possibly fallen on my roof.

I would have much rather spent the money on fun stuff but you know, there are just some things that have to be done.

Hope you have a great week and everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving.  We certainly did with all of our family in attendance.  It's nice have little ones around again at family gatherings.

Oh yes, need to tell you that my granddaughter Cassie had a reveal party on Sunday.  I'm getting another Great Granddaughter!  YEA!

  1. It is good to hear from you:) My Christmas decorations are slowly showing up! Still no tree but perhaps in the next few days! Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!

  2. Congratulations on the new baby that is coming. Exciting. Looks like you are busy with your Christmas decor and looks wonderful so far. That tree looks scary. Glad you are having it removed. xo Laura

  3. Judy, Decorating is a chore truly...it's enjoyable to see he results. I loved your new signs. Yes, your sweet John is looking down on all of you. You are getting quite a bunch of girls around there. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. Hi Judy. Love your signs and they are both so perfect for you. Bella has the same look that Cooper had when I drug out all the bins and the tree!!! Happy decorating.

  5. Judy your signs are so sweet. I haven't got my Christmas up yet but will by this weekend. I will see how my new kitty Annie does with the tree. Hugs!

  6. You'll have everything looking pretty in no time! I love the deers on your table. Hope the tree removal goes well. It's always so interesting to see those guys work! Hugs!

  7. My living room looked a little bit like yours the other day when I was digging stuff out of tote boxes. Though I've really pared down my decor over the years, so I don't have quite so much. We're getting our trees trimmed (again) in the spring - or should I say, the neighbor's trees. One is a mulberry tree that causes a lot of destruction to our roof, gutters and patio. Another is huge and some of the branches are hanging dangerously low...when the wind blows, I can see some of those huge branches swaying like they're going to break off and fall on our property. I can't believe all the leaves you still have on your trees! All trees here are bare, except for a few leaf stragglers. Congratulations on the news of a new great-granddaughter!

  8. Judy, your home is looking wonderful. Very fun to decorate your new place this year. Good luck with the trees, sad when they have to come down but it is good to get them taken care of before something bad happens.

  9. It looks like Bella is rolling her eyes! LOL. I am doing white and silver too for Christmas. It looks so pretty. Can't wait to see your tree all decorated. Congrat's on the upcoming grandgirl :) How blessed you are!

  10. Bella looks like Lili when she doesn't like something. LOL Your tree will look great in your front window. Like the decorations in your dining room

Congratulations on the new baby girl, when is she due to make her appearance?

    Have a wonderful week Judy.

  11. Good for you in starting your decorating early in spite of Bella's doubts! Love your dining room!

I know how you feel about trees. Some of ours are ready to keel over...hope I'm not home! ;-D

  12. Happy Decorating ~ I started yesterday and am enjoying the process.

It's good to have that tree taken down, you won't have to worry about that. I'm waiting on a tree trimmer to call me. He was busy and said he'd call.

    Happy holidays ~ FlowerLady

  13. Congratulations on another baby joining your family. I love that sign, Judy, but it is also kind of sad--I'd rather have my angels on earth and I know you would, too. Those tree things are so expensive but even MORE expensive if they fall and cause damage.
Hope you have a great week. xo Diana

  14. Hi Judy, Congrats on the new baby on the way. How exciting. Hope the tree cutting went well. We had to do the same here. Better to be done ahead before they fall down and do lots of damage. Love the start to your decorating. I got done but my house looked like a cyclone hit in the process. haha. Blessings to you. xo

  15. Judy, I love your table decor. Yes, my favorite is the ironstone plates on the wall. I haven't been able to visit in a while so I'm gonna look around a bit. Is it okay if I plunder?
